The "Big Fish" Quarterback Rumor

Yes, and everyone hangs on your every word. How dare you lead us all astray. The people in this forum whose opinions I value know it's not nonsense. I get as much inside knowledge as anyone not named LWS on here so whether or not you believe it matters nada. I wasn't boasting, I was simply explaining why I stated what I stated. If I wasn't given that information, I would never have posted with such confidence.
Last time I checked, JT5 was one of the few people that knew Kiffin was going to be out HC well before anyone else did. JT5 has an insane amount of inside info.

Im so mad because if it is announced in the afternoon I wont get to see it until late tonight becasue we start 2 a days today

Honestly guys, i wouldn't put too much into the audio clip. The sport guys here in Chattanooga are complete morons. I do know that that somebody posted on TOS about having a surprise QB commit, and I am not doubting that. I think we do have a surprise commit, but I wouldn't try to decipher what 102.3 said. They probably know less than we do in recruiting IMHO. I would want to hear it from some other credible source that it is a transfer and not a high school recruit before I make any further guess at who it will be.

I listened to the audio again. If this guy stated everything correctly, then it is not Lamaison, because it is a transfer that would have to sit out a year and be eligible for 2010. Maybe Coach O got involved and went out and got us a big fish like he did when he was at Ole Miss and convinced Jevan Snead to transfer from Texas. That would be sweet. Could Robert Marve have had a a change of heart? Could it be Cameron Newton?

Mavre is hurt...dont think this staff is still wasting their time on him

And that has to do with recruiting how? Nevermind. I'll leave you to your opinions. I'm not arguing something that really doesn't matter to me one iota.

Are we seriously going to just throw out names without any sort of evidence? I mean damn, as long as we're just tossing out what would be considered big-time QB recruits that would have to transfer, here, just start plucking names out of this and keep daydreaming until we have something more concrete to chew on:

2009

Matt Barkley - USC
Garrett Gilbert - Texas
Aaron Murray - Georgia
Tajh Boyd - Clemson
Bryn Renner - North Carolina
Richard Brehaut - UCLA
A.J. McCarron - Alabama
Tom Savage - Rutgers
Andrew Maxwell - Michigan State
Allan Bridgford - Cal
Zach Mettenberger - Georgia
Tyler Russell - Mississippi State
Josh Nunes - Stanford
Ryan Mossakowski - Kentucky

2008

Blaine Gabbert - Missouri
Dayne Crist - Notre Dame
Mike Glennon - N.C. State
Star Jackson - Alabama
Andrew Luck - Stanford
Landry Jones - Oklahoma
Jacory Harris - Miami
Jordan Jefferson - LSU
Tyler Wilson - Arkansas
Kyle Parker - Clemson

2007

Jimmy Clausen - Notre Dame
Ryan Mallett - Arkansas
John Brantley - Florida
Mike Paulus - North Carolina
Peter Lalich - Virginia
Pat Bostick - Pittsburgh
Jarrett Lee - LSU
Robert Marve - Purdue
Steven Threet - Arizona State
B.J. Coleman - Chattanooga

That's just the last three pro-style classes of anyone rated 4-stars or higher on Rivals. Not that there are never guys that turn into studs from lower rankings, but on those three lists not many of the lower-rated guys have exactly exploded into "Big Fish" territory. And then of course you have players like Coleman (left us), Marve (injured and decided not to come here anyway), Boyd (um, no), and Clausen/Mallett who are chiseled in stone starters.

I'm just not really feeling this to be anything of note right now. But by all means, continue to believe Matt Barkley is going to be a Vol next year.

:pinch: :shakehead:

Sabanocchio missed on Scroggins. Who cares. It would be a pretty boring board without predictions. I get inside info from time to time and I usually PM them to friends but the reality is this, we usually piece together a little bit of info from several places to get our predictions.

You're onto something here. I think it's all four of them.

And that has to do with recruiting how? Nevermind. I'll leave you to your opinions. I'm not arguing something that really doesn't matter to me one iota.
JT5 knows people. It's not like the people in the AD don't know anything about the recruitment of 17 these y/o boys that you are obsessed with.

You, on the other hand... you get your stuff from VQ. All of it... well almost all of it. I assume that you just make some stuff up every now and then. You have as much inside info as Rex and Eric... none.

This is the one idea that I cannot completely discount when I think about this deal. I think there may be a very real possibility that they are talking about Cam.

Out of all of it, I think Newton is the most likely. He is a "big fish... maybe even a whale" at 6'6 250 lbs.

I don't care how "smart" you or anyone else thinks I am. I post my feelings and my opinion. If someone posts something that is contrary to my what I believe to be the truth, I will point it out.

You've got some "pesky" annoying posting habits yourself and shouldn't be the one to be spouting off at the mouth. Your posts weren't proof of anything but a bias toward myself. I explained why I felt the way I felt and why I turned out to be incorrect. Why don't you go and pull out the myriad of posts that I have made that were spot on? I'm right way more than I'm wrong. Your post does nothing to argue that.

I gave you your due in being right more often than wrong. Perhaps you similiarly missed the trait of objectivity in my writing, as that which you so often and egregiously miss in your own.

Secondly, a careful re-reading of my first post would succinctly and effectively refute your haphazard claim of my being biased toward you. Rex is a minister, have him help you down off of the cross you've fashioned for yourself from the beams of your own ignorance and insecurities.

I guess I could have approached it differently.

I could have pointed out that unlike you, the coaches didn't feel as if their self-worth was dependent upon being the first to post their unverified and ultimately woefully incorrect information on the nearest message board. It was you. That was YOUR mistake, again, back to the whole, "you're not infallible" line of thought.

I could have said that sniffing someone's jock for recruiting information did not a "credible source" make. Nor does that make you somehow more special, except in "jock-sniffing", of course. And even then, how many people are you really competing with in those events, anyway?

Had someone else made the glaring mistake you made in stating "Book it!" for JS to UT, you'd never let them forget it, using it as the source for an ad hominem attack with each subsequent post they made. Then, had they dared tried to defend themselves by arguing or attempting to excuse it (you knowk, as you are doing......right.......now........hypocrite), it'd be even worse. You're like a bully with no muscles. Or intelligence. Or potential.

I merely pointed out what everyone else seems to believe, and what you likely sense to be true but cannot quite admit - that your "book it" on JS was not only in error, but inexcusably so, and effectively erased a hundred other predictions which may have proven true in the past.

Luckily for us all, it was Eric who was recently named, "Recruiting Coordinator" for VN (and congratulations for that, Eric), and not you. It's hard enough to escape Jimmy Hyams on the radio, without feeling as if his twin is lurking around here, as well.

Now, I'm going to go to Eastbay and cancel that Scroggins jersey I ordered a few weeks back. Instead, I'll re-roder one that has the "#1" with the last name of, "Book it!".

Where would you like me to have it delivered, Sab?

This is true. Dawson has hit on several things. There are others on here too that get info and choose not to announce it to the board for the very reason I am getting criticized. It's cool though. Doesn't bother me. If you are going to put yourself out there like I do, you can expect to be blasted when you're wrong. It's funny how when you miss on something such a big deal is made about it, but there is no credit whatsoever given for all the ones you're spot on about.

I don't know why anyone would give sab a hard time for missing on Scroggins when he was at least being logical about his opinion, when some on this board missed on Scroggins via visions and dreams. They're the ones that should be getting hell.

I saw some people mentioning Barkley. I think that is insane. His picture is all over Pete Carroll's Blog.
They love him out there and PC came out and said he will get some PT this year. So I dont think it is him.

I honestly dont think anything is going to happen, but if it does I think it is going to be Newton as well.
Taking an old UF Recruit/5 star would be the only thing that would constitue big fish news.

This is the one idea that I cannot completely discount when I think about this deal. I think there may be a very real possibility that they are talking about Cam.

If you look at the few post I have, I've been all about Cam. I think that would be a GREAT pick up for us and a dig a CUM.

The mindless, 14 year-old minions who comprise the majority of the recruiting forum may believe you have "sources," but the rest of us know better than that.

Now, when it comes to writing creepy love letters to 17 year-old boys, you're the man....no one can steal your shine in that department.
