The "Big Fish" Quarterback Rumor

Lamaison would make the most sense. Remember, the Lamaison deal has been hush hush by the coaches and Lamaison himself. There was a reason for this. Now that we have missed out on Scroggins, they are probably going to unveil the secret and make it official. My guess is it's Lamaison.

That's what I'm thinking......but I would love to be surprised if it is someone different.

You failed us too. Same as me. Heat that up.

I had one tongue-in-cheek post in the entire Scroggins thread. You had hundreds of them, including a frightening love letter that undoubtedly convinced Scroggs to never step foot in the state of Tennessee again, lest he be kidnapped and held hostage, a la Misery, by some psycho named Sabanocchio.

And stop pretending to have "inside information." Everyone here knows it's nonsense.

Its not Lamaison! He is not considered a "Big Fish." They said we will be very surprised and we knew about Lamaison for a long time, like a couple weeks ago. We just signed Lamaison to give us added depth to this years team. They said that we would be very surprised and I seriously doubt hearing that Lamaison signed with UT, made you get a hard on!

Again though posters have stated it wasn't Lamison or Bray I have yet to see a coach or staff member say it wasn't first hand. Don't care about speculation or second hand info. I also haven't seen a coach say it was a QB, only a big fish and silent commit. Now there has been plenty of second info and speculation that it was a QB but rumors only and nothing else. Sometimes people make a strong arguement because they want to believe it.

Fair enough. I was privy to some inside info that steered me wrong. I generally trust my sources, but the coaches were way too confident that they were going to land Scroggins and I was only echoing their confidence. They missed. I missed. It happens. .....

So you speak to them now or was this 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc... party info?!?

Phillip Sims is not coming here. The guy LOVES Bama and wanted his teammate Evan Hailes to go there with him, but we all know that Hailes doesn't want to compete much so he didn't go. In all honestly, I believe that they are talking about Lamaison. Too many things point to it. If it is a transfer, we will see or possibly they turned someone. I think it's just a bad rumor to this point. If something was going to happen, there's no reason that it wouldn't have happened by now.

First of all, Lamaison was known about on Friday. They said the name would be released on Monday.

Second, no offense to Lamaison, but he's no "big fish... maybe even a whale". I don't think calling a JUCO (unranked in Rivals... 3* in Scout) transfer a "big fish... maybe even a whale" is conducive to Kiffin's strategy on recruiting. To me, a "big fish... maybe even a whale" would be a Matt Barkley-type. A high-profile transfer... not an unranked JUCO. I mean... UT was in competition with Utah State and North Dakota State for Lamaison... that's not "big fish" to me.

Also, I'm pretty sure Lamaison is eligble for 2009... radio excerpt was stating 2010 for eligibility.

Chances are... this is just bad rumoring... but if Kiffin really called an unranked Rivals JUCO transfer a "big fish... maybe even a whale" that we beat out North Dakota State and Utah State for... we're in for hard times. Again, no offense to Lamaison.

Admittedly, it may first appear to be a random comment. As it followed one of the many posts in which you chide, berate, downgrade, mock or otherwise attempt to nullify someone else's opinion which doesn't happen to be agreeable with your own, it really wasn't.

Simply, you have a pesky habit of wanting everyong to think that you're the smartest guy in the room.

You're not.

My examples were merely "proof".
Solid work right there.

Yes, and everyone hangs on your every word. How dare you lead us all astray. The people in this forum whose opinions I value know it's not nonsense. I get as much inside knowledge as anyone not named LWS on here so whether or not you believe it matters nada. I wasn't boasting, I was simply explaining why I stated what I stated. If I wasn't given that information, I would never have posted with such confidence.

I don't care how "smart" you or anyone else thinks I am. I post my feelings and my opinion. If someone posts something that is contrary to my what I believe to be the truth, I will point it out.

You've got some "pesky" annoying posting habits yourself and shouldn't be the one to be spouting off at the mouth. Your posts weren't proof of anything but a bias toward myself. I explained why I felt the way I felt and why I turned out to be incorrect. Why don't you go and pull out the myriad of posts that I have made that were spot on? I'm right way more than I'm wrong. Your post does nothing to argue that.

You are the A-Rod of this forum, is all he's saying.

Everybody get off sabs back he knows more than, and has more respect than 95 precent off the pepole on here.

I listened to the audio again. If this guy stated everything correctly, then it is not Lamaison, because it is a transfer that would have to sit out a year and be eligible for 2010. Maybe Coach O got involved and went out and got us a big fish like he did when he was at Ole Miss and convinced Jevan Snead to transfer from Texas. That would be sweet. Could Robert Marve have had a a change of heart? Could it be Cameron Newton?

Most schools didn't even know Lamaison was going to be eligible this year. The "maybe even a whale" might be a reference to his talent on the field once the staff develops him. His true potential is unknown at this point obviously.

Having said that, I hope it's not him cause I'm looking for another surprise.

Dont want marve, just torn his ACL, also he couldnt come to TN because of the conditions that Shannon made for his transfer

I've got my TO bucket of  for this one.

This will be fun to watch play out, I like some of the other posters am not going to get my hopes up. I really think we are focusing on the fall now and playing well and trying to turn someone or find an unknown.
