The Braves Thread

The guys you want shooting are 7/18 though
True. But the lack of slashers is so glaring. They’re getting nothing going downhill to the rim. Don’t shoot it well enough to space the floor and do t threaten the rim enough to open up the 3.

Ha yeah I’m just gonna say that Trevor is much closer to being correct than Chipper

Bauer is 34 and hasn't seen major league hitting in over 3 years. Career FIP of 3.87.

Yes, he was pitching great in the year and a half before the suspension. But it's unlikely he's anywhere near that at this point. Let's not forget that in the 8 years before 2020, he had an ERA below 4.19 only once, despite pitching the nearly the entirety of that time in a good pitchers park.

They’re getting nothing easy. And I love ZZ, but the over penetrate and dribble through the paint routine gets old.

Thats why he was a 3*. Hes so short he can't finish at the rim most of the time.
With ZZ, somehow these things are true simultaneously:

- Without him, this team would be completely lost offensively for extended periods of time (they are also lost for extended periods of time with him though)
- He's very overrated by our fanbase, many of whom think he's one of the 2 or 3 best PGs in the country (he might be defensively, but not overall)

The SEC is incredibly competitive this year, but I think they've got to be pretty disappointed with 4-4 through 8 games. Shouldn't have lost last night, shouldn't have lost to Vandy, and shouldn't have gotten annihilated at UF. The only good loss they've had in terms of how they played was at Auburn.

ZZ is Elite for a team with multiple shooters he can distribute to.
The problem is this team is asking him to be a scorer which he is not good at.

Don’t disagree but a 3rd starter in AAA is an absolutely ridiculous statement

A 4.19 ERA is a big league starter

It’s better than we’re going to get from #5
And probably #4

Which would make him our #3 ha

And he would do it for the league minimum

(Ironically Charlie Morton had a 4.19 last year for NOT the league minimum)

I (kind of) understand not signing though I think it’s largely a stance taken by MLB but to argue he isn’t an MLB pitcher is ludicrous
