I'm curious what exactly you do at a Rally like this in an empty parkin lot? Just kind of stand around and chant or scream you want to keep Pearl?

See that's the thing...those who read this board are what I would call hardcore fans. We know all the details because we read about it nonstop. We read Hatvol's posts and insider info. We read the full letter of allegations.

On the flip side, there are people out there who only know what's been reported on ESPN. They see it as "Pearl recruiting violations...he lies to the NCAA...he apologizes." Then they think, well let's give him another chance because he's been pretty successful as a coach. And man he sure got me excited about this program.

There are those out there who just aren't as hardcore as us on VolNation. They may not even have a clue what a "bump" violation is or how serious the penalties will be if we keep Pearl. We have to consider the possibility that they are truly ignorant to all the details of Pearl's recruiting violations. So do we ridicule and belittle them as fellow fans? I hope not.

I stopped reading after that. We maybe more "informed", but we are in no way the most hardcore fans, I can assure you that.

That they think Pearl was a good coach? That we won't get anyone better?

Again, regardless if you disagree with those thoughts, I don't think any of that means they put Pearl above the program. Is it possible? Absolutely...but I don't think it's a given.

I just read that facebook page for the first time and wow. That candle in the wind video came from one of those people.

I've been here reading this thread, good stuff. The lack of civility is nothing new. Calling people names for exercising their right to assemble seems a new low however.

Invoking the constitution, nice touch.

People who exercise their right to assemble by supporting someone who broke rules multiple times and lied multiple times, deserve to be ridiculed.

Just as a baseline comparison.

Thats nowhere near the turnout for the mattress burning that occurred when Kiffin left.

So, more people wanted Kiffin to stay.

The people at the rally totally got their point across.

Every1 makes mistakes! He has admitted it and bn punished so whats the problem? God, who is without sin, is far more forgiving than other people, who themselves have probably done a lot worse than Bruce Pearl! EVERY1 deserves a 2nd chance!

It's not even that for me. If you know the potential penalties for keeping Bruce vs. firing him, then I don't see how you can support him over basketball program.

Another shining example, your right to free speech. You can express your opinion, I can choose not to agree. All without calling you names.
