I have no illusions that the NCAA is fair. I firmly believe they are selective of who they punish and the severity of punishment. Tressel should be buried, but I highly doubt he will be. That said, universities and coaches have submitted to the NCAA as the governing body of college athletics. Pearl committed a major violation and got caught. Now he's going to be punished. History shows he will get at least a one year show-cause, most likely two. Keeping him does more harm than good.

I agree that this issue is moot. When I heard that BP had lied to NCAA, I pretty much believed that he was history. You can't overcome that. And I really liked BP and what he has done for BB and UT. I still am not going to bash him though. Even if somehow he stays, it will be impossible for him to successfully compete because of the NCAA scrutiny that would follow. I have no way to prove it, but I believe the downfall of Fulmer began when he turned in Bama, which brought scutiny on the coaches and the program in recuiting. We had a good year here and there, but overall, it declined after that. Not saying that's the only reason, but I believe it helped. My biggest problem is how and who NCAA bestows it's mercies on. i don't think we as the general public have a good clue about how many violations occur that never see the light.

I am not the girl you think I am. There is nothing on my facebook page about Alabama or FSU. I'm not even a member of the Bruce Pearl group. THIS IS WAY OUT OF LINE. Leave whoever she is alone and quit stalking.

Most of the "true" pulse of the entire fanbase is at home not worrying about this. They will either go to the games or they won't, and as long as we hire someone who can win, and that should be relatively easy now, they will continue to support the program. The people who created that dumb facebook page are the teeny boppers of the fanbase, who can't grasp we had basketball before Bruce Pearl.

I'm just being defensive because I think at 22 page thread over a student rally (that's not even going anywhere) is a little silly. It's easy to see who you have identified as me, and I promise you, it's not my facebook. For her sake, please do not confuse. :)

Lol. Yeah I just went back through the thread and saw.

On another note, I don't understand or agree with the bashing of these folks who are at the "rally." Is this the kind of fan base we've become? Making fun of our own fans and their children? I'm glad we have fans who are passionate enough about the program to get out on a Sunday and show support for a basketball coach (regardless of my feelings on Pearl).

So what if they misspelled a word? The kids probably made the sign. I'm fairly certain we've all made typos before.
