What are you talking about? This rally was held roughly 18 hours before classes start.

And how is that relevant? UT Students don't step on campus until they absolutely have to. We are the lazy generation after all, lol. But once you activate the sleeper cells by making it insanely easy to show up (i.e. having the rally right across the street), they will come if they support Pearl.

They can fill Neyland stadium in support of Pearl and it won't mean diddly squat to the NCAA. How many Pearl supporters are gonna hang in there with him if he gets a one year ban? Hire an interim coach for one year, then bring Pearl back?

I went ahead and posted this:
I love the University of Tennessee. Whatever must happen for my University to succeed, so be it. I loved the years with Bruce. He was great for us. Resigning is as good for him as it is for us.
I appreciate everything he's done, and wish him nothing but success (except against the Vols) in his future endeavors.

And as for the fans who vow to cut ties with UT because an embattled coach resigns, I'm very sorry. I hope you get to the point where a coach doesn't dictate who you support.
