The cancel culture is getting out of control

Also ... and I bet you knew this :

The rainbow prism design was chosen for the "Dark Side of the Moon" album cover, as a subtle clue to the album's synchronization with The Wizard of Oz (Somewhere, Over the Rainbow).

I've never heard acknowledgement of the Wizard of Oz thing. Supposed to be coincidental.

I was about to post the same thing ... The funny thing about this, is those idiots on Twitter are finding "wokeness" where it doesn't exist. There was a rainbow prism on the original cover! It's not an homage to gay pride.

.... and I can listen to the guitar solo on "Time" all day long. Richard Wright had the vocals on this track. RIP.

Technically it isn’t a rainbow on the cover it’s a prism generated light spectrum. There is no arc or bow

Technically, I called it a "rainbow prism," with that in mind .... Pink Floyd used that cover design as a veiled reference to "The Wizard of Oz," .... so, it's not completely out-of-bounds to describe it as a rainbow.

Cancel Culture debunked! Good job!

I think we can all agree that right now in America, we have people that want to cancel things because they are offended, and that these people are in the minority and they don't actually have that much power to cancel. The instances where there is actually a legitimate groundswell to successfully cancel somebody are fairly rare, and sometimes happen for 100% good reason (like Kevin Spacey, for example...nobody acknowledges the times where it was a good idea to cancel).

I think we can all agree that the same exact thing could have been said in the 80's. The same thing could have been said in the 50's. Probably would have been more true at those times.

The point is we don't live in a cancel culture anymore than we did in days past. The point is that the corporate, industry, and overwhelming public response to Dave Chappelle has revealed to us that we don't have a cancel culture, relatively speaking, just a minority of cancelers who have a voice on the internet.

And a voice and power won by gerrymandered voting maps.

Cancel Karl Malone. Dude is all the way a POS even without this cardinal sin.

I've never heard this story before. No charges filed against KM in Louisiana. Civil paternity suit by parents of the girl (13 at time of conception).
I have no reason to defend KM. Haven't thought about him since his Jazz days. Seems like there is more to the story.

With that said, if KM knew her age and continued flirting/dating/copulating with her, there is no question about his moral failing and his unsuitability as a someone worthy of acclaim.

She had to sue him for child support. It's all the way bad and he's been able to get rich and famous playing marketable sports hero his whole life. He's gotta face consequences at some point.

There is more to this story than what the Twitter cess pool can (or will) offer.

KM can face criminal consequences if a DA thinks it is worth pursuing,
Time Limits for Rape and Sex Offense Charges in Louisiana
  • First-degree rape: no time limit
  • Forcible or second-degree rape: no time limit
  • Certain sex offenses involving a victim younger than 18: 30 years after the victim turns 18
  • Third-degree rape: six years after the offense

Time Limits for Rape and Sex Offense Charges in Louisiana
  • First-degree rape: no time limit
  • Forcible or second-degree rape: no time limit

I can't tell from that that he's criminally liable. Not even sure having sex with a 13 YO was illegal in LA in 1980s. Also, believe she turned 18 about 34 years. IIRC, this happened after his sophomore year when he was 20, and he's 59, so she's 52.

This has been common knowledge for a while and I'm kinda shocked that it never blew up, really.

"Malone has also impregnated Bonita Ford when they were both 17 who gave birth to fraternal twins Cheryl and Daryl Ford. Malone refused to accept that he was the father of all three of these kids, settling paternity suits where he was exempt from acknowledging he was the father."

"I’m not discussing any of that. I don’t care,” Malone said according to the Salt Lake City Tribune. “That’s my life, it’s my personal life, and I’ll deal with that like I’ve had to deal with everything. So… whatever.”

The top comments 🤣. Clearly, cancel culture is thriving. Can't even cancel a rich sex offending has-been who no longer has anything to offer anybody.

Cancel culture? Really? Isn't that what America has done to various minorities for centuries? Isn't that what DeSantis doing now in Florida? So it means it is OK for bigots to cancel a culture, but it's not Ok for the other side to do the same. Truth, the other side doesn't want to do the same. They just want to screen time parity. Hypocrites go hypocrite.
