The cancel culture is getting out of control

He did not sever business ties. He put out a weird video and still sold Bud Light at his businesses. Pretty sure there was also a pic a few months after of him drinking Bud Light himself.

Looks like you are right. I must've conflated headlines. John Rich canceled Bud Light on his tour, and credited Kid Rock with launching the boycott. So boy was in it, of course. Not sure why this is up for debate.

Didn’t scroll the convo, just correcting misinformation. Kid Rock was just posing to get some hillbillies riled up. Posing as something he is not is actually right in line with his entire persona.

Well actually it’s called the Gulf of America. If the AP can’t be trusted with simple facts such as this, they can’t be trusted with much of anything.
That is ridiculous.

I would be willing to bet that most Americans, including those people who live in southeast Texas and the southern-most regions of Louisiana and Mississippi, are not even aware of Trump's executive order and still refer to that body of water as being "The Gulf of Mexico."

It is a hyper-sensitive response to such a trivial matter. The President of the United States should have more important things to concern himself with.

All of those people may also believe the earth is flat. That 2+2=5. And that Biden is Sharp as a Tack. Facts are facts. It’s the Gulf of America. The AP is intentionally spreading misinformation. They are free to keep doing that, but the access they were receiving is a privilege.

Your analogy is comical.

Trump's executive order does not erase how that body of water has been historically referred to. The President of the United States should not be behaving in such an authoritarian manner, as though he is a ruling king, and what he says goes .... or else.

.... and this hyper-sensitivity Trump has put on display is the sign of a narcissistic person, whose ego dictates his every step. Your unconditional defense of his petty vindictiveness is cultish in nature.

We're the ****** kid in the sandbox at the neighborhood park.

It's unbelievable to me that a POTUS would buck a standard like this (media access) over something so completetely trivial. Save it for an egregious lie, or something. Anybody defending or cheering this is the problem with our democracy.

It's precisely the kind of thing in nature, that Republicans (rightfully) chide Democrats for : Being aggressively oversensitive and reactionary to matters concerning semantics.

Agreed. Poor move. But if both sides are doing this, and only one side offers lower taxes, cuts to government spending, and the end of two major foreign conflicts…..well, you won’t hear me focused a lot on this

It's petty, and a bad look.

There are also a lot of rags out there--this one included--that ran known lies about him in a concerted effort to see him removed from office, and his life destroyed. I have little sympathy for them.

I’m sorry this is bothering you brother. But when we consider fundamental truths as trivial (such as referring to the Gulf of America as the Gulf of Mexico) it’s a slippery slope. Keep punting on truth and you end up with pregnant man emojis.

Well .... that "cuts to government spending" part remains to be seen. We heard that song and dance in 2016. Let's wait and see what Trump's fiscal year 2026 budget request proposal looks like first.

One group seems to be actively trying. The other group seems to be actively fighting against their efforts

If you’re telling me the other factors are all even, shouldn’t I go for the side that seems to be trying?
