The cancel culture is getting out of control

Derogatory does not equal race-based epithet ... and whether or not it is even derogatory will depend. Jeff Foxworthy's jokes were not mean-spirited. He mostly used redneck as a term of endearment.
LOL. Maybe you should stop thinking you are more of an authority at defining terms than they are?
your words not mine. No need to really answer back with a spin.

Derogatory does not mean racial slur. PERIOD. And not all white people will be called a redneck. It is closely associated with lifestyles and tastes.

.... and redneck will often be applied as a term of endearment. Anyone familiar with Jeff Foxworthy will know that. His humor was affectionate. You guys are not this stupid. Nobody is. You just want to argue.

If you think that redneck is a racial slur just like the N word ???? .... You are pulling more weight than I am at the moment.
Both those words and similar ones like hillbilly and cracker may or may not be slurs, depending on context. Sometimes they're just descriptors. Sometimes they're slurs.
When redneck is used as a slur it's generally racial or regional or both.

I strongly disagree .... when "redneck" is used in a derogatory sense, it generally will include an observation of uncultured behavior, a simplistic lifestyle, social awkwardness and undeveloped, basic, personal tastes. It is rarely just racial. When used as an insult, it usually involves a critique of one's conduct and/or lifestyle.

It's not used against Asians, Africans, Hispanics, Hebrews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Singhs, Jains, Zoastrians or Interstellar Aliens, is it?

Much more polarized now than 2006. If Aldean made a song called “N****r” and there was any pushback from the left, there would definitely be some “HELL YEAH THE WOKE MEDIA DOESN’T WANT YOU TO HEAR THIS” people out there

But if Aldean were black it would be perfectly fine.

I disagree with that as well. I have an Asian friend who was born and raised in Robbinsville, NC. He identifies himself as a Chinese Redneck. Speaks English with a deep southern accent ... and I know more Mandarin than he does.

.... but the bigger point, is that nobody is ever called a redneck just for being white. There is always a social component involved ... usually concerning a lack of cultural refinement.

The world needs more Asian rednecks.

So you’re saying all that matters is the context?

If he calls himself that then he's not using it as a slur, is he? That's the key.
Aren't there quite a few Hmong around Robbinsville?
