The cancel culture is getting out of control

Nextdoor Adds ‘Anti-Racism Notifications’ to Warn Users of Posts Like ‘All Lives Matter’

The neighborhood social media app Nextdoor is reportedly introducing new “anti-racism notifications” that will alert users if the app thinks that they’re going to post something racist. The company’s example of a racist post that will receive the notification is “all lives matter.”

The Verge reports that the neighborhood social media app Nextdoor is introducing a new anti-racism notification which will ask users to reconsider their post if it detects offensive or racist language in their posts. Previously, the app introduced a Kindness Reminder asking users to avoid posting phrases or words that Nextdoor finds objectionable.

HFPA member Philip Berk Ousted after calling BLM a 'hate movement' in an email

Berk was an HFPA member for 44 years and served eight terms as president

Philip Berk, a former president and longtime member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the organization that governs and votes for the annual Golden Globes, has been ousted from the group's board after sending an email that called Black Lives Matter a "hate movement."

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association board said in an email Tuesday that the 88-year-old is no longer a member of the organization. The decision comes hours after NBC — which telecasts the Globes — condemned Berk’s actions and called for his "immediate expulsion."

FFS!

I see NCAA/ Pro Sports social justice commercials saying, "It takes all of us." So if "it takes all of us" is true doesn't everyone need to bring something to the table? If so, doesn't that mean that we ALL matter? But saying "All Lives Matter" is racist/hate speech?! You can't make this crap up!

Penn State to drop 'male-specific' titles like 'freshman,' 'junior,' 'senior'

I thought Junior and Senior were kinda gender neutral in that context. Same with Freshman to an extent.

They are, but Junior and Senior are male specified surnames, and freshman includes "man". Is a woman not a wo"man"? So stupid.

Crews begin work to Remove Nathan Bedford Forrest’s statue pedestal, Remains from Memphis park

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It started in the dark of night on Dec. 20, 2017 when the statue of General Nathan Bedford Forrest was taken down from a public park in Memphis.

Now nearly four years later and after a lengthy legal battle crews have started to remove the pedestal that bore the monument.

Workers arrived at a Memphis park Tuesday to begin the process of digging up the remains of Confederate Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest, and moving the former slave trader’s body from its longtime resting place in Memphis to a museum hundreds of miles away.

Lee Millar with the Sons of Confederate Veterans said the removal of the pedestal that once supported Forrest’s statue is the first phase of the effort to remove Forrest’s remains. The remains, along with the statue that was removed from the park in 2017, will be moved to a site in Columbia, Tennessee.

The group said a couple of cracks in the pedestal promoted the repair work, which will take weeks. Millar estimated the cost at about $150,000 to $200,000.

Cancel culture is a necessary feature of leftism. Since they can never win in a contest of ideas, their only option is to ensure that all opposing voices are silenced

My first memories of cancel culture were as a good little Southern Baptist Republican boy, telling my friends that going to Disney was a sin and helping make signs in Sunday School for the adult protest at The Last Temptation of Christ.

Then I recall the Dixie Chicks damn near going under when expressing their opinions after 9/11.

The right invented cancel culture. The left appropriated it.
