The cancel culture is getting out of control

My first memories of cancel culture were as a good little Southern Baptist Republican boy, telling my friends that going to Disney was a sin and helping make signs in Sunday School for the adult protest at The Last Temptation of Christ.

Then I recall the Dixie Chicks damn near going under when expressing their opinions after 9/11.

The right invented cancel culture. The left appropriated it.
Eh, the Dixie Chicks cancelled themselves. They went overseas and did something they would never do with their audience base at home. If anything it's closer to the truth to say they invented virtue signaling.

IMO opinion the comments were leaked because Taylor is going through a negotiation with ESPN, right now. I believe her contact expires within a month.

I don't think Rachel's a racist person, but her comments are. Saying someone is only getting a job because of diversity is about as racist as it gets in the workplace.
Sort of like saying that a black person getting shot by police is only because of racism? It’s the exact same logic

Smash-able redhead on ESPN.

When as a society did we become so damn mentally weak that other people holding a different opinion hurts feelings. We have lost our ability to agree to disagree and it's sad.

Tell that to the criminal nutjobs who tried to cancel the results of the 2020 Election because they lost.

I remember when the left argued on the side of free speech.

To quote Plato, “the measure of a man is what he does with power.” This has been the most disappointing thing about all of this. It shows a vindictive spirit unwilling to hear opposing views.

Cancel/PC/Accountability Culture is rooted in fear and ignorance. It belongs to the Left today, one day it’ll belong to the Right.

Hopefully we stop this mess and grow out of our infancy.
