Hopefully, for the sake of UT basketball, Martin is able to provide a better "effort" than you in realizing what works better for this team. I hate to break it to you, but Maymon and Stokes aren't the reason this team will win, or, at least, the main one.
I have been paying attention. Let's not forget we have played Xavier one mediocre mid major, and the citadel. Did you pay attention in the first half of the Xavier game when we scored 3 points in ten minutes? I would rather see Reese get on the floor and provide some offensive spark than watch the defense play 5 feet off of Armani Moore or Quentin Chevious.

Not sure why this discussion is so intense.
We'll most likely be seeing more 4 guard line ups, by necessity than most will care to see.
The main question is will it be successful against D1s that are 2 deep at the 4-5.
I couln't agree more. Moore brings a level of atheticism that Maymon just can't bring anymore. IMO Now that isn't to say that Maymon cannot help this team win. But anybody sporting 2 offensive lineman knee braces cannpot be expect to play above the rim. And Moore can bring that to the table.
BTW: the starting lineup doesn't need to change. Moore can get his minutes and be a huge impact without starting.
Anyone remember what season it was that Dixon did so well with the 4-1 motion?
Was forced by injuries to play 4 guards most of the season.
Let me give you my little (coveted) synopsis of Derek Reese.I'm really trying to figure out what y'all see in Reese. What am I missing?
No? I know Wright at Villanova plays/ed it a lot, not that that's a ringing endorsement. I think it's good in spurts, but should in no way shape or form be our primary set.
Let me give you my little (coveted) synopsis of Derek Reese.
Reese was known out of high school as a 'versatile wing' who can play multiple positions. Reese can dribble the ball, shoot the jump shot (and 3), and is working hard in the post. Imagine having a versatile guard/forward who can do dribble, do a post move, and shoot the 3. Though Reese lacks the initial quickness to make him a larger threat, Reese loves playing off the ball. He's a team player who does the 'small things' to get the job done (cliche right?). One last thing that I really like about him and why I think he'll be a good player in the next year or two - Reese is always practicing; he practices very hard and is always trying to add weight. With a good work ethic and natural athleticism he should be solid.
He provided a spark in last year's Xavier game, not to mention he came off an injury that was suppose to stagger all season (from what i understand).
Not to mention Bruce Pearl also had interest in Reese.
Will Reese transfer after this year? I hope not. I'm not sure why he isn't getting any PT right now other than a mention of his back is bothering him on Instagram (@ BTO). If Reese decides to redshirt this year, then we can expect him to be gone after the season. If not, then he'll have 3 more years to play for us.
