The coaching situation at TAMU

Far from it. If you have not gathered who it is from my post before now, I'm not sure I can help you.

far from a mole, just in a loop. A well informed loop. For the record, I've been in front of this whole debacle from the start, including the Fedora situation. My record speaks for itself and can be found on pages 1-7 of this thread.

Let the doubters doubt though.

Patterson? I cant see him leaving them after what he's succeeded in doing and the facilities they have invested in because of his success.

With Sumlin off the table, Larry Fedora hype is gaining momentum now.

Didnt want Sumlin to begin with. Not sure on Fedora. Looks like a, and pardon the analogy, a "Tennessee hires Dooley" kind of move.

After a few quick visits/emails:

Fedora
Sumlin
Smart.

Most likely in that order. Retention of Tim D as DC.

Figure is around 1.8 for a 4 year term. Sumlin is indifferent due to the $ ASU is throwing.

Fedora? I have no one connected there.

and over the course of a few days, it's pretty clear who has been decided on. My personal preference has no bearing on the actual hire. Infact, we are taking a guy who I think will be gone within 4 years. Doesnt change the facts and that what I've passed along.

furthermore, if you'd take the time to read my posts after 12-1-2011 you'd recognize the truth. But then again, maybe not.

Don't question me.

Oh my bad... Didn't know we were 't allowed to do so:crazy:

When you figure it out, just post it and stop being so wishy-washy with your BS. Or do you work in the TAMU AD's office...hahaha

Like anybody on here really cares all that much.

Maybe you should leak your info to the KBTX sports department... I'm sure they're dying to hear.

to update:

The "big fish" that has been mentioned ad-nausea over the last few days is in fact, Chris Petersen. I have not said much about this because no one I've spoken with views it as a real possibility. The finances required to pull that guy, aside from all the other factors that Petersen views valuable, would be pretty steep. Even for a program like ours. I'm still confident that we have our guy. All I've heard through various conversations and emails lead me to believe that is the case. If, however, there is even a slight possibility that Petersen would entertain the idea, I fully expect our Athletic Dept. to have at the minimum, a sit down with Chris.

As it stands, I would expect Friday to be a big day in College Station. Nothing has been said to make believe that things are not going to go as planned.

Lastly, I'll add that Boise State fans are some of the most "cloak and dagger" type folks I've ever seen. I thought Austin had entitlement issues. They don't hold a candle to these guys. Touchy bunch IMO.

That's it.

Reading Texags a few minutes ago they said that Mark Richt interviewed this week for the job. Don't know if it's for real or not, it's just what they said. TIFWIW

i reread it all as well and i am confused.. was the frontrunner you referred to different than what emerged today with peterson? i wont ask you to spell it out for me because you obviously have a valid reason for not saying who you think is the frontrunner. Who in your opinion then, is running second right now for the HC job?

The name I just received from a connected Aggie? Mark Richt. I was told A&M has offered the job. We'll see...

@BrentZwerneman(Beat writer for A&M): Finally got confirmation the Mark Richt talk is legitimate. Should A&M hire him, Bama DC Kirby Smart likely would head home to Georgia.

A lot of talk about Richt to A&M. A source with knowledge of the situation tells me it's not silly rumors. Could happen in morning.

I don't understand why aTm would want Richt. He won 2 SEC titles when the SEC was down and nothing since. In the west Richt won't be able to beat Saban and Miles. Spending big money just to maybe be third in the west doesn't make sense, it'd be better to hire a up and coming coach that might end up being great. aTm shouldn't have fired Sherman until they had his replacement in hand.

+1

Doubt he'll beat Petrino either. 10-2, 9-3 at best every season and no SEC title game appearances won't cut it unless they are just looking for SEC mediocrity.

Oh and whatever happened to the Sumlin to A&M talk? Did they stop all talk after that choke job last Saturday or did Houston lock him up?
