The Competition Never Rests.

i had no doubt that Cal would pull Knight and a few other top kids... he does it every year.

That said, i would take our coach's approach(long term) vs. Cal's one and done.

I had heard Louisville, but could be wrong. My info isn't anything spectacular, so I'm never going to claim otherwise.

Teague was indeed a strong, strong louisville lean. However, he was delaying his committment, which prompted a visit from Pitino. Pitino pressed him quite hard for a committment on that visit, so much that Teague commented afterward that it was awkward. It was only a month or so after that when Teague opened his committment up a little more, and delayed his decision indefinitely.

As of now, most say the tables have turned and he is indeed looking to commit to UK along with Gilchrist, Miller, and a slew of of other top 15 players. 2011 will be another special class, and team, if everything holds together.

I came to post this info, but Hat beat me to it.

Also, as Hat as already stated, Gilchrists decision to announce tomorrow along with Knight is a decent indicator that the two are coming to Lexington.

HOWEVER, most recruiting experts and folks around the program still think that Doron Lambs committment is the one that will make or break the program for next years team. We need a an athletic pure shooter in a bad way, and he would fill a huge gap.

Also (again), stories surfaced today that C.J Leslie stated that he wants to play with Brandon Knight, and now the two are looked at as almost a package deal.

How'd two of the three games go for us this year? I'm not sure I understand the logic that seems to be saying getting routed twice in three meetings is a good thing.

Hey....better than getting routed 3 out of 3 times. They had 3 losses on their season and we were one of them.

Not really. Gilchrist and Teague are both class of 11'. Lamb is still 50/50 between UK and KU. This class is far from "complete", even if tomorrow goes great.
Kansas and Kentucky would be wise to keep an eye on West Virginia and St. John's where Lamb is concerned.

Yeah, I knew WV was high in the mix. I heard about Lavin pressing the flesh since his hiring. Of course they interviewed his HS coach who made the statement that Doron only had two leaders, UK and KU, and that the leader changed daily.

However, thats not a family source and you TIFWIW.

Its not out of the realm of possibility.

It's all good CBP has a great start on the '11 class with Jones and Ware anyways. I have accepted the fact that every year UK will have very strong classes it's up to UT to keep up and keep the fierce intensity of the rivalry going. I like where we'll be in the future, it seems like we'll have more talent than this year, and still have the experience by not landing all of the one and dones, and that should work in the Vols' favor

Yes and Irving should be in front of Selby because hes the best PG in this class.

That's a bold statement. Selby definitely got the better reviews from the McDonald's game. They seemed to think he had more upside than Irving.

our 2011 class is already great with Kevin Ware and Chris Jones, and I am sure there will be more because we are on a lot of peoples lists and some others are interested in us.

I want them to have top classes, just like I expect great classes at UT....beating great UK teams means sooooooooo much more...losing to bcgs less than stellar teams and tubbys projects were a dissapointment,at least to me..

It won't matter because Knight will be gone after next year (along with Kanter and possibly any of Miller, Liggins, and Dodson). Gilchrist will likely be gone the year after that. These players will be good at UK but only for a year.

Does anyone else here think that Cal will be leaving to a very lucrative NBA job within' the next two years?

Though not confirmed, its seems as though there is nothing left but the formality that Dodson will not be on the team next year. Rumors of draft and transfer are all over the place. I don't know which it is, but the one thing agreed upon by most is that he is probably not on the roster next season.

Lmao once again at hatvol. Sure, pearl will get the "short end of the talent stick" more often than naught vs Cal, but with classes like these coming in for uk, what coach won't?

I haven't seen anything, anywhere that doesn't have Gilcrest just as likely to go to Villanova. I'm not saying it isn't out there or that someone else doesn't know more than I. I'm fishing for hints here more than anything.

I agree with Selby over Knight, but Irving over Selby? Selby is the better player. That should count for more than being the best fit for the position.
