Carrying water is the "Pearl is Tennessee basketball" people. I, on the other hand, like having a very good coach. Forgive me for liking the fact that 15-10 is considered catastrophic nowadays.
I count 36-20 in 5 points and under since he's been at UT, 21-8 with Loftin and Co, 15-12 since.
And going back to my other point of who are the wins against.......yeah.........
I had 31-14, not considering this year. Not bad. And, I'm missing what you said about the teams he beat. I'm not sure that would really work in your favor, Pearl's beaten quite a few good teams during his time here.
Liking that "fact" and pretending as if Pearl is some sort of strategic guru is different matters.

There's quite a few W's against the Belmonts and likes of the world in that 5 point and under margin as well.
He wins more than he loses, but I'm never going to think he's a late-game mastermind. Better than Buzz for sure, but still no guru.

So, essentially you have nothing to say, except for a few pot shots, that you don't like Pearl and other people are stupid. Ok, got it. Sort of like arguing with hat, though without the arrogance.
Pearl was great. Kiffin was a disaster. Dooley is up in the air. As far as recent hires, Kiffin and Dooley don't really give me great confidence in his hiring decisions.

Why is it so difficult for you guys to give him any credit? It's all dumb luck for 20 years until his true colors are shown this year? The Tyler Smith isolation play didn't work a couple of games ago for Tony Jones, so it's possible that the play was a good setup to find an advantageous matchup for Tyler in 2008. And, yes, the Florida defensive set up was noted by Pearl as stating the spot on the inbound could create the type of passing lane for Bradshaw to steal the ball. It was a good call.
Come on, Unimane. You know better than this. The iso play didn't work against Bama because Harris was doubled and they had no clue what to do, which is a coaching failure. Also, of course Pearl will sit back and boast about simply denying an inbounds pass as if there was some type of genius involved in making the decision. It was luck, plain and simple. If Billy D sets a back screen, it's a layup for UF, plain and simple. That play, and succeeding in general in late game situations under Pearl, has been the exception rather than the rule.
