Do you want Bruce Pearl to be Head Coach at UT next season?

I prefer to take out the trash before it starts stinking up the house.

Someone who wants him fired find a better coach that will come here to replace him. Then you can talk. Its easy to make statements without coming up with a solution. But should he be fired. Hell no.

Gregg Marshall.

I don't care if they replace him with Wade Houston. I want him out of my school. Committing another violation four days after that press conference is the absolute last straw for me.

If Pearl is hit with a 1 or 2 year "show cause" order he will have to be fired, and I like him but no recruiting and no coach for 2 years is the death penalty.

+1 I bet there are more that want him to stay than there are those that want him fired. I thought everyone deserved a second chance. I doubt that Pearl is the only coach that ever cheated. They all do, he was just stupid enough to make a picture of his violation and sit it in his house for evidence.

At which point Hamilton needs to follow him for allowing this to drag out and causing the school to face potentially tougher sanctions (than if he'd been canned to begin with).

So when the sanctions come out and Pearl is suspended for a year or two; and they lose some schollies and maybe post season tourney appearances - just how good do you think recruiting will be? How proud will you be of your team when they start losing more because they have no incentive to win at a high level and have less talent? The school/program are already the laughingstock of the country because we kept a head coach that cheated and lied before - and now we find out - after getting caught. Do you think parents of high profile players don't know about this?

You are entitled to your opinion and I understand the viewpoint. IMO by retaining him we are heading down a path that is leading to where we have been before or worse.

You do realize that the record we have now (W17 L11)
was a very good record most years in the past. This is
Pearl's worst year and we are still going to the dance.

I totally agree. By the time the NCAA hands out the final punishment it will be August and that will be some swell pickle we've put ourselves in.

win ^.. still I say no. I like Bruce. He wore the sumo suit and wears those crazy orange blazers. And I truly believe he cares about this program.

If Bruce truly cared about the program, he wouldn't have tried to lie to protect his image, put himself first thinking he could get away with anything, and then commit a violation four days later after promising he would behave. Bruce only cares about Bruce.

He got a second chance, and ****ed it up by committing a violation four days later. There is no more chances.

did the second chance start before he committed another violation on the 14th, or did it start afterwards?

so you would have fired Pearl and his staff in September and had the team be coached by who this season?

Yes. He spat in the university's face if this violation is true. This has basically been a lost season anyways, so it wouldn't have matter who would have coach.

I didn't know about this. I was in the "everybody lies, give him one more chance crowd" until I heard about him committing a violation after the apology. Now, I think he needs to go.
