Someone who wants him fired find a better coach that will come here to replace him. Then you can talk. Its easy to make statements without coming up with a solution. But should he be fired. Hell no.
If Pearl is hit with a 1 or 2 year "show cause" order he will have to be fired, and I like him but no recruiting and no coach for 2 years is the death penalty.
So when the sanctions come out and Pearl is suspended for a year or two; and they lose some schollies and maybe post season tourney appearances - just how good do you think recruiting will be? How proud will you be of your team when they start losing more because they have no incentive to win at a high level and have less talent? The school/program are already the laughingstock of the country because we kept a head coach that cheated and lied before - and now we find out - after getting caught. Do you think parents of high profile players don't know about this?
You are entitled to your opinion and I understand the viewpoint. IMO by retaining him we are heading down a path that is leading to where we have been before or worse.
At which point Hamilton needs to follow him for allowing this to drag out and causing the school to face potentially tougher sanctions (than if he'd been canned to begin with).
win ^.. still I say no. I like Bruce. He wore the sumo suit and wears those crazy orange blazers. And I truly believe he cares about this program.
+1 I bet there are more that want him to stay than there are those that want him fired. I thought everyone deserved a second chance. I doubt that Pearl is the only coach that ever cheated. They all do, he was just stupid enough to make a picture of his violation and sit it in his house for evidence.
