I agree that Bruce was not very good today, but people calling for him to be fired that were not calling for it after the Pitt game are off their rocker. Now if you want to cushion the blow to you own personal psyche for when the NCAA forces us to fire him then have at it, just leave your hypocrisy off the boards.

Finally someone who gets it. It is one thing to want Pearl fired, state your opinion and move on. The same goes for the flip side. However, to go to the extreme of whichever way you feel and then get personal for whoever doesn't agree with you about Pearl is dumb. I don't agree with people who want Pearl gone. I feel like he was an idiot for lying and has made his own bed. However, I feel like he should be given a second chance due to what he has done for this program. Others disagree and have valid and logical points as well. However, when you start doing the "fan card" thing or calling someone a sheep for wanting Pearl to stay it's just dumb. Or to take it a step further, begin personal attack such as calling him "tanning bed" or going into some other argument that basically states, "Pearl said he told a player this in the postgame radio show but that is obviously not true because he is a liar." Things such as that have no place and are either 1. dumb or 2. illogical. I disagree that Pearl should be fired, but if someone lays out a logical point, I will still hold my view but will see where they are coming for. The basketball forum is by far the worst forum on here because people cannot state a logical point and go on because if you hold the view that I do, there are some that say you think that Pearl is the Savior even though that insult is not consistent with what I say.

I hope that makes sense, I just got back from Memphis and am about to go to bed.

Repeated failure for exactly the same thing X NCAA hammer = fire the MF.

Guy should have been fired immediately for lying to the NCAA. I haven't seen a whole lot of coaching this year that makes me think differently.

Pearls Little lie to the AA has killed this season. Yes, he was great! Thanks Bruce for the memories. The honeymoon is over! We have to move on!

I've gotten to the point of wanting to punch people in the face when they imply that Bruce Pearl invented Tennessee Basketball.

im sure this has already been said a lot, but wouldnt winning these close games eliminate our anger toward bad late game coaching?

also, i wasn't aware that wanting to win made me a "fairweather fan." You are tired of listening to people complain, and i am tired of people acting like we should be okay with being mediocre.

Actually Don Devoe did, however Pearl has done more with basketball then any other coach we had years past -just saying.....

Why did Hopson not drive on Parsons every single time there was a half court set tonight?

Did Pearl not realize a slow hurt gangly white guy was on him?

Why do you not exploit a mismatch like that over and over and over again until they do something about it?

Pearl did a great job clapping his hands and yelling. I didn't notice anything else he did to help his team win.

This team seems so confused trying to run Pearl's plays. Less so with Tony.
Goins does not understand that the game clock actually runs out...dribbling all over the place when there is <2 mins to play.

Team has issues....CBP is not helping to work through issues.

The only "default" is people who keep screaming UT basketball will die if Bruce Pearl isn't coaching. Not to mention my point is the same types automatically lump anyone who isn't 100% "Pearl Invented UT Basketball" with him.

I've been watching UTK basketball since Ray Mears was the coach. Every game I could for almost four decades.

Doug Dickey is no longer the AD, we pay very well for a coach now, and TBA isn't a 25,000 seat dump anymore - just saying.

Bruce Pearl is proof that basketball can be relevant at UT; but he is not UT basketball.

My thoughts on what should happen to Pearl have nothing to do with basketball. That being said, the OP may want to have a better argument than "give him time" considering Pearl having deepest and most esteemed roster since being hired. The guy has certainly proved himself as a coach, nothing that happens this season will make me think he isn't a great coach. I just don't think UT should keep him based on actions, and not "the lie"n but the actions afterward, the attempted cover-up, which hardly anyone ever cites. This never has been about a bbq or a little white lie. If only it was.
