Do you want Bruce Pearl to be Head Coach at UT next season?

Then listing them will be quick. The question has already been posed and the floor opened. You dot have to bother with senseless posts like this. Show us the hate steeped in Pearl's choice of religions.

I'll be even more interesting to see how they explain the disdain for Steve Forbes.

I am not defending Pearl's actions, and I also hope he is punished for what he has done. However, I can't help but ask why you display such hatred for him, and recently CPF? Did CBP do something to you individually to bread such anger? Not trying to add fuel to the fire, just curious.
Gee, if only I had answered that question before.

It appears you lack the courage of your convictions to call things as you see them.

My convictions and courage are hardly measured by a basketball message board.

Additionally, I don't hide behind a keyboard and monitor to show my disdain for a product.

Like I have told you before, stop renewing your season tickets if you hate CBP as much as you claim. If you, and your like minded brethren can rally together and quit supporting the team, and are more than a far too frequently vocal minority as I suspect, then your actions could result in a change at the head coaching position.

Just the Jew haters please.

I don't think most folks that think Pearl should be gone have to quit supporting the team. I have supported the team regardless of who the coach was and will continue to do so. The real difference is the posters who do not support the team, but support only the coach. Often they are referred to as "Pearl Lovers".

In case you haven't noticed, supporting the University and supporting Bruce Pearl are actually two different things.

Pearl just looks like a guy to me and he has made UT BB known. He made a mistake. He is sorry. He has been punished. He will be punished more and in excess. But like any human he should get a second chance. I have never known a perfect person, including the NegaVols on this site. Giving him a second chance, he will benefit and UT BB will benefit.

If we keep him, and he makes another "mistake", he will effectively nuke the program. How that could possibly be worth chancing is beyond me.

It is only worth taking that chance if you consider Pearl more important than the program.

Of course it's worth it. The man only created basketball at UT. Not to mention, there are no other coaches who would come here. Buzzball, empty seats at TBA, whoyagunnaget, and all this.

recruiting must be like walking through a fresh cow pasture; the grass is so green for a reason. have to watch your step; he wasn't very careful.

I'm not a "Bruce is UT basketball" guy, but I'm a Bruce supporter. Like it or not, lying to recruits, parents, NCAA ect.. is part of being a coach at a major college these days. If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.

Could Tennessee hire a decent coach? You bet, but is it in the best interest of the program? I don't think so IMO.

You should take a look at the coaches who have lied to the NCAA and how they were disciplined.

Has Colin Cowherd talked about this yet? Just curious how he spins it.

He is too busy with his NBA lovefest to say much about the college game. The last few days his rant is that college basketball is terrible. Very few good players, etc.

Hate to agree with Bilas, but it is time to have guys either come to college and stay for 2 to 3 years like football and baseball or take their chances getting eaten alive by the NBA.

Don't know which has hurt college ball more....AAU teams/shoe company involvement or the 19 year requirement, one year out of high school rule for the NBA.

Both have been bad but the AAU/shoe deal probably gets the edge say 51 to 49.

We self reported, and I believe everyone thought it was a secondary except the NCAA which has to make you think something is not kosher with the ordinary "bump" rule.

My understanding is that we did not self-report as the compliance folks decided it was not a violation. Somewhat amazing that they took that position as it is extremely obvious to the casual observer that it was clearly a violation. Not reporting in the situation we were in and with a coach that made a public display of sorrow over his previous transgressions likely caused it to be consider major by the NCAA.

Have never heard him say a good word about anything UT except Pat Summit.

Not sure what ranks lower than a tool but Bayless is pretty much it. I love it when Woody used to kick his backside. The ESPN female mouthpiece brings nothing to the discussion.

The fact that he stepped in some is not so much the major issue. The major issue is the serial nature of the violations and the lying and coverup.

He's done severe damage to UT and the just action for him to take is to resign. If we won't resign then Hamilton needs to fire him.

He can work in TV for a couple of years. He'll probably be a star game or sudio analyst.

Well I want to win.....period! And Bruce Pearl gives us the best chance, we've already come so far in six yrs and his name alone to recruits is big and hes one of the most known and "KOOL" coaches around to young recruits. He needs to just learn how to cheat like Calipari without getting caught! We all know 99% of coaches cheat in one form or the other! and in no way do we get a coach that can take us were he can. We will be back to being a South Carolina like BB program.... Sorry but that's not for me!
