Some of you should just stop being Tennessee hoops fans.

If he can weather through this storm and not lose his job, he will be at Tennessee for a long long long time.

This is a terrifying thought for some of you, but for fans who can appreciate the unprecedented heights that the team has reached under CBP this is a very hopeful time.

Thats not to say that the hopeful fans don't acknowledge the mistakes that were made, and the negative light that they have shown the program. But as a hopeful fan, you can look forward to when this is finally over in June to a re-energized CBP that will be a on a mission to rectify his name and win even bigger than he has in the past.

If CBP doesn't get fired, we will be in very good shape to win a lot of games and compete for conference titles and in the national tournament. Only time and running a clean program can make up for the tarnishing that the program has gone through on his watch... but, be hopeful that the light is bright at the end of the tunnel.

NegaPearls beware, if he gets through this, Its going to be a miserable next decade for you.

To be hopeful that Pearl is retained, I would like one question answered, who's going to be coaching his basketball team while he is serving his 2-year show cause?

If he stays, I find it hard to believe he can keep the same production. Recruiting, for one, should definitely take a hit.

And if he leaves I think the same can be said. We have never been relevant in basketball, and if Pearl is ran off don't be surprised if we fall back to mediocrity.

(We may find someone else to have success, but chances are fairly slim)

I just read that one of the lawyers for Terry Nicholls (Ok City) is on the ncaa coi. A guy defends a killer of innocent women and children (I believe Nicholls may have also pled innocent), but is on a committee that is focused on punishing BP and UT right now for his BP's lie. Ethics and morals have been repeatedly brought up. How ironic.

If Pearl retains his job through this situation, then he stay clean, then he will be here for years to come. He is barely going to survive this, so if he mis-steps again, he will be gone. Everyone's patience will wear thin with one more mistake by him!!!

It baffles me how people think that there is no way we can find someone as good as or better than Pearl.

We won't find anyone as good or better than Pearl, while we are dealing with these sanctions. It is not a guess, it is pretty much a fact. What good coach would come to U.T. with us dealing with these sanctions?????? Therefore, the new coach would have to be worse than Pearl.

I would think the coaches would get hit worse than the program.
