Do you want Bruce Pearl to be Head Coach at UT next season?

I want him back. We'll see how he does after a couple of more years then re-evaluate.

This is the approach we took with Fulmer, and it set our program back 3-5 years.

I think Pearl has shown that he can't build a consistently elite program. Add this to the fact that he has already damaged our future, and I think the choice is easy.

I think it's easier for a coach to learn the NCAA rules then to learn how to coach and recruit. I think Pearl won't make these mistakes again if stays at UT. :twocents:

I was a Pearl supporter for the longest time. I still think he is a good coach and great salesman.

Before all of this 'AA mess he was a great ambassador for The University of Tennessee. Now he has brought shame to himself and the univeristy. He got caught in a lie and had a tearful presser where he came off a truly remorseful. I still supported and defended him.

When the redacted LOI came out and it revealed yet another violation, a mere 4 days after said press conference, is when he lost my support and sympathy. Completely.

To those that want him gone:

Is it because of this incident or have you grown tired of him or have you always not wanted him?

Both. Incident + replaceability. For 2 mil, we can get a coach that doesn't lie to the NCAA and won't be terrible at recruiting PGs or designing an offensive system.

The issue with Bruce is NOTHING like with Phillip. Phillip needed to be gone from a performance standpoint. Bruce's ethics are why he needs to step down

I voted no, but it's not because of any performance issues. If he had just told the NCAA, "yes", when asked the BBQ, this thread wouldn't exist.

The incident. I've had issues with his coaching but nothing that would rise to the level of wanting him terminated because of it.

Maze came on at the end of the season and Ramar had his moments but we may go back to Bruce's first season to find a consistent one

Not really, we just slowed the team down and he shot a lot of FTs. Ramar got replaced by a 6'7 scorer and none of these three people were particularly good passers at all.

You've been satisfied with the recruiting of Bruce and the performance of his teams?

Not completely satisfied, but that doesn't mean he should be fired. It would have been almost impossible to fire him for performance issues.
