Keep Pearl fire Hamilton....... I think he knew more about what was goin on with all the violations while they were bein comitted than is bein made public.. There has been no institutional control from the day he was hired as AD..

So let me get this straight . . . you want to keep the guy that committed the violations but you want to fire his boss for not being able to control him? There's zero logic to that.

This is totally the opposite of my experience, and I've been following UT basketball since the 70s. Most of the fans I've talked to who are desperate to keep Pearl at any cost are the ones who just jumped on the bandwagon a few years ago. Long-term fans know that there's not that much difference between what Pearl has done at UT and what Jerry Green and Don DeVoe did; they know Pearl's not the only one who can win here.

In Pearl's 6 years at TN he has wins over the likes of #2 Texas, #1 Kansas, #1 Memphis, Florida twice the year they won the national Ch.
He's won 20+ games every year and 10 plus SEC wins every year.
2 sweet 16s and an elite 8.
One bad year and people want his head.
Good grief.

So fire the guy who "didn't monitor" for violations, but don't fire the guy that actually committed the violations? This fan base cracks me up.

He had a cookout at his home during an unofficial visit from recruits.. they made more calls than was allotted... both minor violations.. he lied about it but then came clean and admitted it.. how many coaches keep lying and say the accusations never happened.. (jim calhoun, Cam Newton case).. the NCAA isn't dumb they know the coaches have knowledge of what went on.. Calhoun gets a three game suspension Auburn still hides behind the we didn't know answer.. Pearl admits the wrong doesn't that help his case..

So if what Pearl did is no big deal and everybody is doing it, why do you think Hamilton has shown a "lack of institutional control" and should be fired?

Don't be cross breeding the rationalizations.

He also throws some great cookouts.

I think there are more dirty athletic depts in college sports today than ever as a whole.. I think a lot more athletic depts need investigated and the NCAA should hold them and their directors responsible.. Its sad but college sports have moved in that direction more and more every yr.. Its u scratch my back I scratch ur back and most employees do as much as their bosses allow them.. Then when they get caught its all the coach and we had zero knowledge of this.. if u believe that then ur crazy..

. . . because as we all know, AD's never get fired and tend to thrive when their programs are hit with major sanctions and/or probation.

Well none of them think they are gonna get caught.. But somewhere someone makes a small mistake.. I hate it buts happenin its jus how long can u keep covering it up.. Sports needs monitored more and in all seriousness some rules need to be stricter.. its a dirty business.. It pulled USC and AUBURN of the cellar really fast.. And it seems Oregon as well..

I really don't know what to say to someone who's more offended by Don DeVoe's attitude than by Pearl's major NCAA violations and ethics charges. Vaya con Dios.

I personally don't think fired coaches should be vocal about futures of other coaches. Comes off as bitterness.

I hope not.

I hope not either. This was not one of the best teams under Bruce but could have been a team that would have won 23-25 games with a little more luck. Too many games lost by less than 7 points.
Where else is the AD going to find a basketball coach around the country that's available that is as good as Bruce and recruit good too?:clapping:I'm a Bruce Pearl supporter.:salute:

You have missed a whole lot of UT basketball news in the last few months.
