The Dallas Cowboys football circus thread

The Cowboys will never be the champs with Tony Homo at QB.

Please. Romo is a top 5 qb. He is the least of the Cowboys' worries.

Good putdown though. You almost had me convinced you were a 5th grader.

I agree on Brady,Peyton,Brees and Favre.
Romo> Rivers and Rogers.
Eli Manning shouldn't even be in that list you just posted.

Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Schaub, Rivers, Roethlisberger... are better than Romo. And I even kinda like the guy.

Fyp your post.

Also...

You forgot Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Carson Palmer, Donovan McNabb and Brett Favre.

The homer in me would take Vince Young as well. 27-13 record. Suck it non-Titan fans.:p

If you honestly believe that, we should hang out and bet on games. I could use the money.

Yeah... the guy that helped knock off the 18-0 Patriots shouldn't be on the list but the guy who can't win a playoff game should be.

Romo has all the weapons in the world and the defense is better than the offense.

Until Romo is breaking 10 yard catches for 50 yard touchdowns like Miles Austin... he is the problem.

Jury is still out on MattyIce. Flacco I was gonna mention.

Why Eli...? I'll take Mr. TonyRomo there. Palmer and McNabb are right around there, I guess.

I don't know... The Falcons were horrible until they drafted Matt Ryan. All of those 1st round busts at wide receiver looked pretty good when he was throwing to them.

As for Eli Manning. Yeah... he makes mistakes and has a good defense. But, so does Tony Romo.

Romo has both better wide receivers and tight ends. Yet the offense is more inept and his numbers aren't really any better.

Matt Ryan still has a lot to prove. Michael Turner remembering how to run the ball would help, and the steelers are just plain tough so we'll see.

And his numbers really are better, is the thing.

So who is responsible for the Cowboys loss?

The defense held the Redskins to 6 points.

Tony Romo had a passer rating of 89.1.

How are those numbers working out for him?

I couldn't imagine what Eli Manning would accomplish with Miles Austin, Terrel Owens, Roy Williams, Dez Bryant, Jason Witten etc.

For instance, I don't believe Roy Williams is the problem. Just like Roddy White wasn't the problem. Kitna had no problem throwing to Williams and Ryan has no problem throwing to White.

Numbers are great and all, but Romo and Vick were the problem.

I'm sorry, but Romo just isn't that good in my opinion. He is the guy that can't finish the drive. The guy that can't win the big game. The defense has good for a while and he has all the weapons you could ask for. As a player, it's his fault imo.

The quarterback is the leader of the team and if everyone else is doing their job, it's his job to put the ball in the end zone. He puts up what I like to call garbage numbers. Numbers that result in nothing. 7 points last week is embarrassing for the 'awesome numbers' he was putting up.

If you'd really like to discuss just pure numbers...

Eli Manning career: 79.3 Passer Rating
Tony Romo career: 95.4 Passer Rating
Those numbers are nowhere close. Not at all. Manning's receivers are good. Excellent, in fact.

Eli Manning through 1 game: 87.1 Tony Romo through 1 game: 89.1... Because Eli somehow managed to find 3 panthers players amongst his "Hakeem! Please catch this jump ball!" pleading. ((Well, two players. Charles Godfrey got him twice, and doubled his career interceptions in the process.))

Having Tiki Barber running the ball with Plax, Toomer and Shockey wasn't exactly a miserable situation, was it? Neither is Manningham, Nicks, Smith, Jacobs, Bradshaw.

Did Romo fumble that ball for a touchdown? I must have misremembered something. Another question, did he scramble around and find Roy Williams for a game winner? Or was that Alex Barron doing the throwing on that play? And it is hilarious that you mention McNabb with this argument backing it up, seeing as how McNabb never ended up finished the job either.

So you're soley judging Romo on last week's game?
And explain how the Cowboys offense is "inept". Since Romo took over in 06, Dallas has had one of the most prolific offenses and passing attack in the league.

Just admit you're a cowboy hater and that clouds your judgement.

And Vince Young over Romo? Give me a freaking break lulz.

So let me get this straight, until Romo throws the ball 10 yards and catches it himself then breaks it for a 50 yard touchdown, he is the cowboys problem?

Where did you get that? Have you just decided to be a fan this year? Did you miss last season? or the year before that?? If you're a Cowboy fan how can you honestly take up for a guy who manages to fail whenever they need him most? And last weeks game wasn't lost on the last play though everyone likes to blame the last drive.

homer. way to blindly give a laughable opinion.

Here's where Dallas has ranked in total passing offense since Romo has been the starter.
2006- 5th
2007- 4th
2008- 9th
2009- 5th

And btw, Romo is 3rd all time in passer rating.

Stats don't lie bruh.

Basically just taking a shot at Romo using his good receivers, I guess. Tom Brady doesn't do this with Welker, so that is good.

Every great quarterback needs good recievers. Its a stupid argument to pull.I don't think Romo is the best qb in the nfl or even top 3, but its pretty ridiculous how some of the Cowboy/Romo haters act like the guy is sooo terrible.
