The disney insanity continues

Further proof he’s simply posturing and has no intent of pushing this past the next election cycle.

Otherwise our governor’s statement is false.

Orange and Osceola county taxpayers would be on the hook for an additional $1.2B if he’s serious about seeing this through.

He signed it on Friday.

Yes I used the slang term and I said what I've read of it I agree with. Have you ever referred to the Affordable Care Act as Obamacare?

Yep you got me, I used an innacurate slang term, I hope DeSantis doesn't start paying my bills to punish me.
Lol. “Don’t Say Gay” != “Obamacare”

The Walt Disney Company is a Fortune 500 Titan.

Disney is not out to make the world a better place.
Disney is out to make a buck. Period.

EVERYTHING they do is informed by the latter.

When Disney brass believes the current course is no longer juicing future cash flows - they will change course. And they won’t budge until then.
Nope, woke board members will gladly allow the shareholders to suffer just to continue to receive the accolades of the gay/trans mafia. The next shareholder meeting should be quite entertaining

Have ever noticed that bills obtain nicknames to garner votes from people who’ve never taken the time to read them?
True, but this one has obtained a nickname that's a flat out lie, because the media knows most people don't read past a headline. So when people see, and read, "don't say gay" bill, they literally believe that. I've literally seen posts in my little Georgia county Facebook page, of people crying about don't say gay, when it literally doesn't say that. You try to tell them, and you are lying, because the news is saying it. Again, people said Obamacare, because it was Obama's baby. People claiming this is don't say gay, are just liars. It really is that simple, but for some I get it's not.

The number of employees walking off from Disney is saving them the futher embarrassment of more employees being arrested in child sex stings...

I disagree.

IF, and that’s a big IF

Free cash flow starts to suffer they will change course. Actual shareholders will not allow the Board or C-Suite to kick back and lose money because they want a d!ck on Jasmine.

How did the US pay its bills before the income tax? 🤔
Basically right now the tax system is a sham. The government prints money and dumps it into the system causing inflation. They pretend the tax system is paying for this but the majority doesn’t actually pay taxes. At this point we should just do away with taxes and have the government print a percentage of gdp every year for government spending. Controlled inflation instead of taxation. Of course we’d need a balanced budget amendment for that to work.

Edit: yes I know your question was rhetorical

Yes, the first amendment applies outside the state of Florida...? I don’t know enough about the oil industry situation to tell you if it’s a first amendment issue. Your description is missing some key components that would create a first amendment issue.

It does not matter that it does not require his signature, it’s still a state action. If it is found to be retaliatory against protected speech, it violates the first amendment.

What speech limit are you talking about applying to senators? The first amendment is not a “speech limit.” The quotes I provided, one of which was from the actual senate deliberations, are evidence of retaliatory intent by the government. There’s no limit on their speech.

Your questions make it seem like you don’t understand how the first amendment applies in this situation. It might help if you posted your understanding of it.
Where did I raise the first amendment in my posts?

As you now have, do government representatives surrender their first amendment rights after being elected?

If eliminating special districts is the goal, and not political retribution for Disney, there should be no need to place a “before 1968” qualifier on the bill.

The “before 1968” qualifier is to exempt residents of The Villages from the same potential spike in property taxes that Orange County and Osceola County residents could be burdened with.

Residents in The Villages historically vote red, so DeSantis needs their support.
The current constitution of Florida was ratified in 1968 and that was the reason for that date.

Animal Kingdom is a great park, but with Magic Kingdom it was really just the aura. It's all overpriced.

AK is a unique park. I get it, the cost is obscene but one could argue it's actually underpriced. The crowds make the experience so much worse. Disney Land hit capacity yesterday and had to turn people away.

Universal has it figured out with their front of the line passes. It more than doubles your ticket price but you go through the express lane every time. Until Disney gets something like that I probably won't go back.

Can we get a balanced budget amendment with that, like a side item
I would give you an Amen, but I don't know how effective that would be. Those assholes in DC would find a way around it, especially since they would be the ones drafting the language. I would like to see a flat tax amendment though. 10%, no deductions. In the very same Constitutional amendment that served up term limits.
