Sale has looked pretty damn good this season!
Just like deGrom, health and a little bit of luck...
Staying healthy means everything to the guys who have the top stuff. Some of the injuries Sale has had has been off field or freak come back liners etc but DeGrom has been fully arm related. Not getting started till 26 for whatever reasons also hurt. Careers are all different and ebb and flow. Im very interested to see how Sale and Gerrit Cole finish their careers. I don’t think DeGrom has any chance of the Hof at this point. He is just not going to get anywhere close to the career numbers one is going to need.

I don’t care what any of you goons think, all I know is I’ve watched Verlander, Kershaw and Scherzer have Hall of Fame careers, possibly 1st ballot.
These 3 are definitely a dying breed and They’ve caused some heartache for my teams but I’ve wnjoyed watching them.
I don’t know if deGrom has the numbers to get in, but I’ll say this, in watching him pitch, he is every bit as talented as the other 3, maybe the most talented of the 4? He just didn’t have the luck factor on his side, like the others had.
I put deGrom in the same category as Kershaw. Just wasn’t lucky enough to be healthy.
All three guaranteed first ballot.

Kershaw looks like Cal Ripken Jr. compared to DeGrom. Really not sure where you slot Lincecum, Kluber, DeGrom guys at. I just know the road doesn’t end in Cooperstown.

Kersh and Verlander first ballot but not 100percent there will be a couple of idiots not put them on their ballot.

Mad Max maybe 2 or 3 years to get voted in. DeGrom is iffy with injury history but I will say this. DeGrom 1st ballot no question if he can stay healthy and lead Texas to another World Series win NEXT YEAR..

No first ballot for Scherzer…wow! You are tough…you would be the one not to vote for the other two first time just to prove it…lol. Even if healthy how long do you think DeGrom is going to pitch?

DeGrom will pitch out his contract with Rangers if he can stay healthy. So 3 more years.

Then I don’t see anyway he can make the hall of fame. He will barely reach 100 wins, 2000 strikeouts. At some point you just have to pitch more. Maybe if he got another Cy Young or something but those are super low career numbers. Even going forward 150 wins is not much to ask out of a Hall of Fame career. That would have been laughed at not long ago. We can’t go off metrics alone when guys simply aren’t pitching enough.

Brian Snitker should have slid Ozuna into the lead off position as soon as Acuña got injured. You want your best hitter/on base batter to get the most at bats. Ozuna has been the best hitter this season. I really don’t understand his lineups sometimes. Top of the order should be:

Ozuna
Albies
Olson
Riley
But he runs like molasses. He doesn't even try to hustle. His feet never separate more than 12 inches when he's trotting.

I don't believe the batting order is a problem for the Braves.

I think last season was so great statistically that Braves fans were spoiled.
Now things are back to normal and everyone is going what's wrong.

It’s not about how fast you can run to be a lead off man. Would you rather your best hitter getting an extra at bat per game or not? That’s what Tony does with Moore. If you give your best hitter an extra at bat then that’s another chance at a HR. Same concept.

Max is getting in first ballot. 3300 strikeouts and 3 Cy Youngs is automatic.

They’ll go down in history with the Maris’, Murphy’s and Mattinglys, as fan favorite greats that just didn’t quit make the cut.

Exactly. There was zero chance they would duplicate that production from last season.

Max maybe first ballot but I bet Kersh and Verlander gets higher percentage of votes.
Max isn't a well like player amongst his peers or the media.

Curt Schilling style.
I can’t take anyone serious who wouldn’t vote these three in on their 1st eligible ballot.

Not only are they the best of their generation but they have the stats to back it up, in an era where offense has been prett dominant.
I think it was his 1st or 2nd year in LA, Kershaw had like a 5 ERA, take that out of the equation and his numbers are even more incredible.
