They don’t like this format one bit and the next one will be more inline with what they really want. The number 1 thing on their list is making Notre Dame a conference member to trim down the bid stealing and increasing how many of their own members get in. In 2026 it will be either a 14 or 16 team playoff so it won’t matter as much. If you aren’t a top 15 program then you really have no shot at winning anyways.

The next step will be a super conference, as soon as they can determine what to do with the vandee’s and Northwestern’s of the world, without coming across as money hungry, blood sucking, heartless scumbags, who could give 2 s less about education...

That would be golden for us. I think we are going to beat Georgia but in the case we don’t and everyone is tied, someone is getting left out. Would be nice if we could just make the SECCG and not worry about it.

I remember a few in the FF calling me ridiculous because I said Texas and Oklahoma would be playing in the SEC before their Big12 contract was set to expire.
One smart dude started quoting contracts and statutes and such nonsense to me.

It's just like Basketball and Baseball. Once you are in the tournament you have to beat the team in front of you. There is an advantage to having a bye, but a bad team will get exposed and lose.

In football more than other sports injuries could play a role. Making a bye more important. But, if you can't beat the lower ranked team in front of you, then were really a lower ranked team?

Cinderella teams find a way. Indiana appears to be the Cinderella this year. We'll see how they fair against better competition this week.
