Do you have to do a lot of spraying with the grapes? I'm ready to move on from veggies. I'd rather throw my money at market gardeners and let them do the heavy lifting. And if we build this pergola thingy, I'll be planting grapes and native honeysuckle on it.I can’t grow tomatoes but I’m a berry and grape growing MFer. View attachment 581896

Where are you again? The son has been busy for father's day and birthday.
Got me 2 blueberry bushes for birthday. (There are about 12 down at my brother's but I let someone cut some trees about 8 years ago and they dropped them on my 3 healthy, vibrant, and productive 2 year old bushes I brought from GA). So I now have mine started back up. And back at father's day, he got me 2 brown turkey figs that are doing well. One even keeos putting out 3-4 figs but I haven't got a ripe one. Wasn't expecting any so soon anyway.
I'd like to add a 3rd blueberry, or maybe even a pink lemonade blueberry. And a bush cherry. And another apple to pollinate the one I tried to kill, then rehabbed and finally stood it back up straight with a steel fence post. Would like to do a peach tree as well. Seems like my local nursery is far cheaper than online tree folks. Head high very healthy apples for $45. Certainly old enough to go ahead and pollinate the one that can bear fruit.
Also want to start some blackberries and maybe raspberries. Thinking I should sneak in on @Orangeslice13 when he's not home and get a good deal on some berry cuttings.
I'm in Cookeville/Jackson County. If you look up Cummins Falls State Park, my house is on the bluff just down stream. Back yard faces back toward the falls.Where are you again?
I can hook you up with some from the strand my grandfather and then my father cultivated.
Some bare root stock should ship well that short distance?? Prob not headed that direction before thanksgiving.Where are you again?

22 Mag is pretty high frequency and much less annoy. It appears that the groundhog that first hit the spinach, lettuce, and green beans has moved under the back deck, presumably with a wide-screen TV, recliner, remote control, and mini-fridge. It's legal in NC to trap them, but you can't then move and release them anywhere else. It's legal to kill them, but no firearms in the city (don't have a gun anyway), and I'm not gonna stab it to death or some other ludicrous method.
It appears that we have to get one of those high-frequency noise gadgets to drive it away to a neighbor's yard. Bwah hah hah
At any rate, no planting yet.
Exceptions are made for shooting ranges in the two cities nearest me. One allows bow hunting with property owners’ permission. That’s a strongly contested by some residents every deer season. To date, they haven’t swayed their council.Everyone should check those ordinances.
Most actually have qualifiers. Like can’t fire within 600 feet of another residence.
If you cannot shoot in a city there would be no ranges

Edit: I shoot my pistol at one of the ranges. It’s owned by two women who have strong support from the public.
Yes.To defend yourself or your family/property against hostile threat, yes, but to discharge a firearm otherwise is prohibited outside of licensed ranges.
Edit: check of the two cities nearest my property.
Live trap. And there are plenty of places near you where no one will ever know you released a ground hog.
