That cpvc needs to go. It becomes fragile over time especially in the hot lines.

If only you had the phone number of a GC with licenses in plumbing and electrical you could talk too. It would probably make a lot of the things you’re trying to do easier
So you've kept your licenses current? Nice.

I was thinking about your retirement the other day. Sounds like you've found a balance that works for you. What did your sons wind up doing? (If I'm too nosy, tell me. I'm not good at this sort of thing.)

One is working on being an author. The other still in college. Both still work handyman with me when needed

I've got numbers. What little bit of line I got left (about 15 feet with 3 spur offs), is not worth it. Can pretty much run pex by yourself now anyway.

And if you were hinting about having your number, your travel costs to come up to my house prob be more than the job. lol. But, I could by chance have drunk chickens coming off the smoker bout when you'd be pulling in.

Maybe you could give me a price for putting in a new panel and ditching the screw in fuses.

Wonder where one could get that and how much would his consulting fees be in KY?

I’m just saying I’ll talk you through whatever you need to know

And use Pex a. Damnit.

There’s a difference

Harvested what may well be the last of my cherry tomatoes, yesterday. It’s been eerie having tomatoes ripen this late in October. It should hit freezing right at sunrise this morning.

OK folks. If any one has any fruit tree expertise...

I planted another apple and a peach tree. Put those white plastic wraps around the trunk with the rut coming on. Keep the bucks from rubbing.

The leaves on both are now turning and beginning to drop. The established apple is still all green leaved. Is it just timing on the change of season, or do I need to take the protectors off?

Dad's apple trees are the same without the rut guard.

Thanks. Could be that the apple tree that has not started turning was re-vamped mid-summer and leaved back out, so it's not season long in leaves and may just not be ready to turn.

I had planted two apples about 4 or so years ago. One died and to make life eacy I pushed it down with the mower and snapped it off. THen decided the next year the remaining apple was no good without a pollinator so tried same thing. But, still being live it didn't break off and just grew at about a 45 for 3 plus years. My son started buying me some figs and blueberries for father's day and birthday, so I decided I'd re-start the orchard and pulled the apple back up straight and tied it off and pruned it. At that point it completely leaved out. Hopefully in a year or two it will be able to stay back up on it's own. I have since added the second polinator apple, a peach, raspberry, and pink lemonade blueberry to the figs and blueberries. And have a bush cherry on order. By spring my orchard will be complete.

Add a Japanese Persimmon tree. They produce a large fruit that have great taste and texture.

I've considered a persimmon. A great aunt just passed last year. mid 90's. Very active. And about 80 pounds.

She had a persimmon tree in her yard and somewhere along the way years ago got in in her mind I loved her persimmon pudding. She made it every Thanksgiving and brought it to family dinners 'just for me'. I never said otherwise cause it was very good, and became even better knowing that sweet old lady thought she was making a dish special for me. Only way I've ever eaten a persimmon, and only when she brought it. But, I have considered planting one as a tribute.

Dio you know she added a bunch of sugar?
Messy trees.

Not sure how she made it. It was always a darker brown color for lack of a better description. It was sweet but not overly sweet. Her recipe was more of a bread pudding type concoction, and reminded me of how my mom made cobblers.

American Persimmons are bitter if not harvested at the right moment and do create a mess. Japanese Persimmons, otoh, aren't bitter even when picked prior to being ripe. No mess unless you let them fall from the tree and do not pick them up.
The average Japanese persimmon, from my dad's trees, weigh between 8 and 12 ounces. Lots of good eating.

I’ve had bucks rubbing on my blueberries bushes. They broke limbs off them scratched the ground in front of them. I seen today where they broke over the okra stalks and rubbed all over them.
