I just don't want anymore Alabama NC's....tired of them....being back in Tennessee with Alabama being so dominant.....is just like living back in So Cal when USC and Pete Carroll ruled the world...at least I was in L.A. Tired of all the Bama fans and hell the Gator fans in Knoxville....wtf...happend here over the last decade and a half I was gone?

We have a playoff system now. Conference pride is over.

Ummm how?? Conference strength will still have some influence in the final 4 teams. Whether there are 2 or 1 sec team in the final 4 can still be on the shoulders of conference strength. I'm sure you'll be happy if the Vols get a #5 ranking (with another sec team on the top 4) because the big 12, PAC 12, acc, big 10 etc are considered better conferences.

I am tired of Bama winning and hate ND is there opponent. I thought Kst was the team to look out for from the beginning and it sux they lost one. I could have easily rooted for them...pretty neutral IMO

That "enemy of my enemy" rubric doesn't always hold true.
For example, al-Qaida was the enemy of Saddam Hussein.
Neither could be called a friend of the US.

Put it this way:

Would you rather be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world?

...or the toughest guy in the third grade?

the "enemy" argument holds true if the other members of the SEC were truely enemies. When they win we all win from Bama to Kentucky. We're more like the Ewings on Dallas. Alot of fighting and bickering but in the end we're family and after the same goal.

ND, USC, Meechigan, etc.... there's your "enemy"

Sounds like the gang mentality

When you're not strong enough to stand on your own, you surround yourself with people to make you appear stronger even though they beat your ass every time they get the chance

Assuming that was always going to be the case from now on, then you might have a point.

I, for one, expect us to be back on top soon.

And I'm sure all the other SEC fans just can't wait

They are ecstatic that UT is sucking

Don't think they would give a tinker's damn otherwise

put it another way, when I watch cfb in the fall I dont turn on ABC or some of the fill in games on other networks. If the Vols arent on I'm watching CBS or ESPN with their SEC game. Why? they are better games. I know the teams and players better than the Big 10, Big East, the dreaded ACC, etc. We all play better ball in the SEC. So when it comes to the end of the year I'm pulling for teams I've watched all year long.

They're idiots if they don't want us to get back to a bowl game and put a little bit more money in their pockets. It's in our mutual best interest as members of the same conference.

Bottom line: tell me one tangible way our rivals losing to non-conference opponents in high-profile games helps the University of Tennessee. One.

Many fans of other teams on here have said they want UT to be better and the sec is better when it is. Of course they want to beat us but they don't like seeing us so weak. We aren't ky, Vandy, ole miss, ms st, even USC jr in the eyes of the main SEC fans. Though we r down we still hold high regard as a program equal to the likes of Bama, LSU, UGA, uF.

The SEC is somewhat under-whelming so far. I don't feel Alabama might be the sure thing that lots of folks think.

I want them all to lose....and only TN to win. To me, this makes sense but for some reason people want to pull for the conference. I just don't get it and never will.

I don't get it either. Why would we want Georgia and South Carolina and Florida and Alabama and the rest of the people that we recruit against show up on New Year's Day and win a big bowl against a Nebraska or Michigan or Ohio State or anybody else?
All that does is make them look good and make recruits forget about us!

It's interesting that many don't see it this way. I have a TCU alum buddy that I get into arguments with and he would always tell me that he can less if their success comes off the backs of weak competition. I always just smh and wondered why we were friends. Ha!

I'd rather get better from losing to the best than getting complacent thinking I'm the best by beating the worst.

This is dumb if the SEC looses all of the bowl games the conference can no longer claim to be the best. You guys want to play in a weaker conference go cheer for a big east team. I take pride in saying we play the national champion year in and out. It to the whole conference benefit. UT has not vol pride or SEC pride. Thiss why we are in the darn toilet bowl.

BOOM roasted
We should take pride in watching other SEC teams whooping another conference teams butt. It does help in all of our teams recruiting. I guarantee you guys every coach in the SEC tells recruits, "do you want to play in the #1 conference in college football. Can't say that if we get our butt handed to us like other conferences do

When SEC teams lose it brings us all down a notch. Already I had to listen to some Clemson fan talking smack after beating LSU and how SEC is overrated. I want every OOC team that goes against an SEC team thinking they are going to lose because they can't compete. Then when we are back at top of SEC, we own them all.

How does Clemson beating LSU reflect poorly on UT? That game I could understand rooting for the SEC schools since we recruit against Clemson more than LSU especially in Georgia. SEC pride is really a way for losers to live vicariously through their rivals.

Let every SEC team lose every game year in and year out and see what it does to UT. You can't tell a recruit do you want to play in the greatest conference if it isn't
