The eternal QB debate (merged)

I won't take anyone seriously who thinks they know more than the coaching staff does. Kiffin has absolutely no reason to keep Crompton in there unless he gives us the best chance to win. He has no obligations to these kids at all. He didn't recruit them so he will play the best one. It's not that hard to figure it.

I admire your support and loyalty, but numbers in games don't lie. Numbers in practice do.

He is convinced by watching Crompton's HS games that he is the real deal hiding in waiting. I wanted to think the same thing, but you have to accept things for what they are and move on

You honestly think Crompton is starting because of his HS games? I think we've found the next NEW COACH.

And I don't argue with Kiffin's logic or coaching ability. He has shown he knows what he's doing. I just think he's taking a calculated risk in giving Crompton a chance to manage the games well enough to win until next season. But the likelyhood of a true freshman being able to out perform NS right out of the gate just aren't good. So why not get NS the game experience this year and not be in total rebuild mode again next year with the passing game?

Exactly! Next year, let's start the guy who sucks the most in practice, because that means he'll dominate on game day!!!

Numbers in practice do. What is that even supposed to mean?

You're just arguing to ****ing argue. It means JC lights it up in practice and sux balls on game day. NS may not perform as well in practice but he at least has enough upside that he could and should do better on game day.

It hit the receiver in the hands but instead of being caught, it was tipped straight up in the air. I forget who the receiver was.

It was high and inside. Hung out another receiver and was a tough catch since the defender arrived with the ball.

He showed me that he had enough upside to go 2-4 as a starter and lose to Wyoming.

This season is showing us just how God-awful of a situation was left behind by The Fired Coach. The fact that we couldn't recruit a better QB than Crompton is simply mind-boggling.

I'd hate to see the kind of bashing he would have got tonight if we actually lost the game

I'm not a bit more happy that it was as ugly as it was than you guys are but hell at least we won.....This game would have been a loss last year

NS has no upside. He was recruited to be a career backup. You are searching for answers where there are none. I hope NS gets some playing time this year so everyone can realize there are no better options. It certainly won't stop all of you from calling for a change though.

Stephens has been awesome on game days. Like that time we lost to wyoming

SO we recruited 3 QB's that can't hit the broad side of a barn and put more in the dirt and bleachers than in receivers hands. You expect me to believe that out of 3 QB's the former staff bombed every one of them. Fulmer obviously declined. BUt between his staff and your perception I'll go with Fulmer.

Stephens had one really bad game against Wyoming, but had decent games against SEC competition, including ZERO interceptions against Bama and Georgia. I'd take that over Crompton's guaranteed crappiness versus everyone.

UCLA has some talent. I'll give him that excuse. But fricken OHIO???

If you consider any of the games Stephens played in decent then your standards should be low enough to call Crompton all-sec

when, I mean if, we lose to auburn next week and crompton stinks it up again, atleast we can all feel good knowing it would have been worse if stephens was playing....give me a break
