The eternal QB debate (merged)

Stephens has been awesome on game days. Like that time we lost to wyoming

The Wyoming game is a good point, and I see it posted over and over, but no one can tell me that that team didn't already quit.

The QBs were equally bad last year, but I can't decide if Kiffin's just really stubborn or if he actually thinks Stephens cannot play better.

I agree, I think that Jim Bob Cooter would look like Tom Brady in comparison to J Crompton. There is no way Stevens is worse, NO WAY. Maybe Stevens looks worse in practice but thats practice, put him in a game and just see how he does.I really think that we are holding him out to get QB recruits. That is the only explination for this BS.

That, or the Wyoming loss is a scarlett letter that NS can't shake.

If they had thrown in the towel after The Fired Coach was fired, then how did they manage to close the season by beating Vandy and Kentucky? Both teams were much better than Wyoming. Oh, and those last 2 wins coincided with The Fired Coach's decision to pull Stephens and re-insert Crompton.

its never his fault, if the pass isnt tipped, then the wideout must have ran the wrong route, crompton is pinpoint with his lasers:eek:lol:

The latter. Why would Kiffin have any reason to play favorites with Crompton?

Which also coincided with a complete 180 in playing style.

It's hard to bet against someone with Crompton's resolve and work attitude. The kid would be the next heisman if he could actually make good decisions most of the time.

Evaluations?? who on here can give a competent QB evaluation? It's venting and discussion with other clueless people. Who the hell are you to judge about my evaluation? Maybe you should apply for the job

obviously you have the knack for locating intelligence unlike QB talent.

You obviously thought you knew enough to judge his evaluations. I can give a competent QB evaluation from what we have at the moment. It's not too tough

Judging Kiffin on everything that he's been asked to do, he has done an excellent job so far. I hope we don't lose faith in him over a couple of under-talented college qb's recruited by a coach who was phoning it in for the last several years.

We are going to need to be patient through this season and the next. '11 will be a pretty good barometer of where things stand.

This thread is one of the worst I've ever seen. OP please do what is best for VolNation and quit the site. This site goes 5-7 at best with you here.

My wife who couldn't care less about football and was passing through from time to time took a quick look and said damn that guy sux.

I feel bad knocking a fellow human being so badly but he isn't. A real fan would request to sit on the bench or leave the team. He isn't doing any good for the team. This really does sound horrible but it's true. He is being selfish by putting himself on the field.

Watching him play makes me want to vomit. I've given him the benefit of the doubt over and over again but this is too much. He is single handedly keeping Ohio in the game.

This all goes back to that report that Crompton had a gun to Kiffin's head so that he would get the starting job doesn't it?

Kiffin is fine. Haven't questioned anything he's done so far. A competent passing game and nothing more would have us at 3-1 right now. Maybe better.

yep... even an average passing game would put us in a much different position... can't wait to see them plug bray in

The passing game is as good as it's going to get this year. When Tyler Bray gets here, it will get much better in a hurry. Book it.

Well, with Crompton I'd say we've got about a 14 pt handicap with whoever we're playing. So.... If I were a betting man, and I am, I wouldn't take any bet that has us a 14 or more favorite.

But if they had quit as you said, how did we win those games? You never answered that part. Vandy and UK were both bowl teams last year.

Maybe I should have said quit for that game. It was right after Fulmer was fired and it seemed like a lot of guy's vajayjays were still hurting.

Plus, as I said, focusing on our strength (running) helped vs KY and Vandy. We threw the ball 3 less times vs WY than vs KY and Vandy combined.
