The Foreign Trade Thread

Are you arguing that the tariffs haven't cost them $1B?

Thomas Friedman is an idiot. He's just a journalist. He's not a policy wonk or an economist. Pat Buchanan is a pretty good political figure, as far as they go, but he's been wrong about this topic for decades. It's why my Dad, a labor economist, wouldn't support him for POTUS in the 90's. My Dad supports/voted for Trump and he says Trump is wrong on trade. Does "orange man bad" explain that one?
If your dad is a labor economist, I'm sure he is correct. I have never known an economist to be wrong.

You worked in government and are calling someone else worthless?

I didn’t know government had telemarketing jobs.
Yup sure am. Worked on campaigns. Won. Worked for the administration. Hated it. Got out. Lot of idiot trump folks in here. Stop repping him. You’re dumb

Could be wrong, but I saw a post recently that any likely treasury sell-off (it wouldn't be wise for them just to dump them) would not have a huge impact on interest rates. You'd notice it, but it wouldn't be back-breaking.

So before I reply are you asking about the technology differences? IE can you just take solar power as generated and run your house or source to the grid with the excess?

He said solar energy is a gimmick, as if it is somehow inferior. You can debate the economics of production, but I'm pretty sure that electricity is electricity, whatever the source.
