Yes that's what I want to nitpick about because that's the 'child marriage' situation that's historically most accepted in America and affected by blanket bans on anyone under eighteen marrying. I think and hope we're all in against preteens and early teens marrying at all.

I don't know if you noticed but states are passing such bills because of lobbying. There's good in what the activists want but as is usual in the US their positions are extreme.
Teenage pregnancy knows no political boundaries.

The filthy parasites known as lobbyist infect all, all, all of our politics. As for teen pregnancies, I mourn the reality, but don't fault the kids solely. They thermonuclear bombarded with sex-centric messages. Billboards, TV ads, movies, even TV shows meant for kids, the behavior of so-called pillars of the community, and more. So with such messages fork and discard the consequences, what do you expect of kids? And then you introduce legislation for adults to have easy access to baby banging. And that doesn't excuse the fact that the states most advocating this are Repubs who claim to be the family values party, the holy bible-centric folks. It's blatant hypocrisy. Not the Dems are innocent, but their party is the only one except for a smattering of Repubs here and there who object to kiddie pumping. Let's not duck and cover on this, it is what it is.

Wait, what legislation for adults to have 'easy access to baby banging'? Who exactly is advocating pedophilia?
I went to high school a long time ago. There was plenty of shenanigans and the occasional unplanned bouncing bundle of joy then, well before the modern evils you mention. The same's true for every generation going back as far in time as you care to go.
My point is that it's unwise to ban all under eighteen marriages regardless of circumstance as a kneejerk reaction to a narrower issue.

Well, if you're into child porn legalized or not, and otherwise exploiting prepubescent and pubescent kids, I know I can't stop you unless I'm present and an eyewitness of it. In which case I'd end up in jail or executed. So, by all means proceed, and keep advocating the practice. That's your playing field, but not mine. Over and out.

I just read the first graf of a. report on teen pregnancies: In the 30 year period from 1991 to 2020, the number fell by 75 percent.
So that's very encouraging....
