Yet no one was charged in the death of Breonna Taylor. Not the guy who falsified the information. Not the guy who fired recklessly into the apartment putting people at risk. And neither of the two officers whose shots actually hit Breonna. No one.

If that article is new and this is unfolding now don’t be surprised if the one that gave false information to obtain the warrant is charged with something.

Derek Chauvin was wrong and deserves his punishment.

That said, George Floyd was accused of passing a counterfeit bill, which can be charged as a federal felony. That was the call the police responded to. Whether or not he was actually passing a counterfeit bill we may never know because all of that seemed to disappear with his death.

Personally, I don't think George Floyd should have been the hero of the BLM movement. Yes, Chauvin needed to be charged as what he did was wrong, but the case that truly deserved the attention was Breonna Taylor.

Maybe that's part of the problem. I understand fearing for your own life, but it seems like as someone in service to the public, protecting innocent lives should come first, which sometimes means putting yourself in harms way.

They do that every single day. Every single traffic stop. Every domestic violence call. Every run in with every arrest. And it’s only getting more dangerous with racial tensions growing and them having targets on their backs from the very people the swore to protect. It’s easy to say “that’s what they signed up for” but no it isn’t. Every single one I know signed up because they wanted to help people. Yes they know that means dangerous situations sometimes but with officers quitting, no new recruits and grants being depleted? There won’t be a next generation of cops if we don’t change.

Sacrifice?

I'll say it again - Chauvin is a POS and culpable and deserves punishment, but it is also without doubt had Floyd not been high and breaking the law he would be alive today. Period.

The fact you and others see this as some sort of sacrifice is the height of stupidity. He didn't selflessly give his life for the greater good and it is an insult to those who actually deserve such recognition.
