The goalposts coming down again is okay by me.

Anyone have a single video of the moment we rush the field? It's so confusing I watched a post game video of everyone still in the stands patting players helmets and yet we rushed? Obviously we did i see plenty of us already on field
All over YouTube

When you haven't beaten a team in a long, long time, and when that team is a perinneal winner of national championships, and then you beat them, tearing down the goal posts is acceptable and encouraged. When you beat a one loss #7 team two years later, not so much. Bad and silly look. Kind of fodder for the hillbilly crowd (not bammers, cuz who cares}

I could care less about goal posts. I never was much for destroying the property of others.

I’m most interested in a rousing chorus of Dixie Land Delight.

It wasn't the students who started it. The players parents in the endzone field level seats started running onto the field while the PA announcer kept with a stay off the field message. That went on for over 5 minutes then people in the SW corner started going over the wall and after a few minutes of that the students started. Probably almost 10 minutes before any students hit the field.

Then everyone was sort of just milling around for a while before any attempt was made at the goal posts. All of the Bama players and staff headed for the tunnel even before the clock went to 0 so I'm not sure we'll get fined1000002414.jpg

Not okay with it. Just dumb and they are doing it for instagram and TikTok. They should raise the tuition next semester to pay for it. You DO NOT DO THIS for the 7th ranked team. This isn’t tn this is kids without sense. Sorry you are wrong
No to raising tuition! I have to pay two out-of-state tuitions and want to retire eventually!

I don’t love it, but every time we beat the Tide it sends them further and further back into the void whence they came. This is catharsis.

As much money as I’ve paid for my kid to be there this semester and have the whole experience my only hope was that he got a picture made with it or a piece of it or something

After the set of goalposts from last time, plus the newly removed set...is it time we officially mark the "Saban-DeBoer Fish Habitat and Nature Park" on Google Maps?

I think it is silly. If we beat Georgia, sure. However, we did it already with Alabama in 2022. You don't do it after beating the same team again. It is generally reserved for when you haven't won in a while.
Unless UGA is number 1, I hope we never do it for beating them beating Bama is different

I hope every retard taking the goal posts down are arrested and serve time. Absolute idiots. Act like you’ve been there before instead of acting like Vandy. It’s embarrassing for Vol fans to act like the Vols have never won a big game before.

Beating Georgia with Kirby Smart is a big deal.

To me, it isn't just the name and logo but also the coaching staff. Georgia and their fans have been brutal lately and they are the class of the SEC.

I said it in another thread, but remember, for all the young people out there in the stadium, most have grown up NEVER seeing Tennessee beat Alabama until 2022. For some of us, seeing us beat the Tide isn't entirely unfamiliar, but for them, this beating Alabama thing has that new car smell. Imagine that. Going your whole life, as far as you can remember, and you never ever beat those damn Bammers.

So I say cut 'em some slack. Whether they're students from elsewhere or lifelong Tennesseans, they've had to hear every older person around them in east Tennessee go on and on about how Tennessee-Alabama is the biggest event in the state -- and it was something that Tennessee never won. They've spent years and years always being the losers in this supposed "big rivalry," and have had to hear it from ever Bammer and every neutral fan since before the first iPhone was released.

Now they're winning. The goalposts coming down again is a bit goofy, I agree, but I say let 'em have this. Hopefully this will be it, and from now on beating Alabama will be nothing special - as it should be.

Any victory against Alabama in football is worth replacing the goal posts.

Sure but they're not as big of a rival as Bama

It was slow moving. I was lighting my cigar and the guy came over the PA saying stay off the field. Looked over and one pocket went in then the crowd rushes. I don’t personally care. After so long in a drought fine to celebrate. But once the kids got on the field goal posts didn’t have a chance. Entertainment to smoke my cigar. Go Vols!
