The way I think about is , it shows we still have a very hungry program! I saw where bama fans were calling ut fans trashy but to me them being so spoiled they don’t even get to enjoy big wins anymore and how the mighty will have fallen when in 10 years bama storms the field after beating a top team. Gotta appreciate the wins GBO VFL!!I said it in another thread, but remember, for all the young people out there in the stadium, most have grown up NEVER seeing Tennessee beat Alabama until 2022. For some of us, seeing us beat the Tide isn't entirely unfamiliar, but for them, this beating Alabama thing has that new car smell. Imagine that. Going your whole life, as far as you can remember, and you never ever beat those damn Bammers.
So I say cut 'em some slack. Whether they're students from elsewhere or lifelong Tennesseans, they've had to hear every older person around them in east Tennessee go on and on about how Tennessee-Alabama is the biggest event in the state -- and it was something that Tennessee never won. They've spent years and years always being the losers in this supposed "big rivalry," and have had to hear it from ever Bammer and every neutral fan since before the first iPhone was released.
Now they're winning. The goalposts coming down again is a bit goofy, I agree, but I say let 'em have this. Hopefully this will be it, and from now on beating Alabama will be nothing special - as it should be.
Yes. It was very slow developing. It wasn’t exactly a storm the field/rush the field situation. I saw the players’ parents/recruits//VIP section start jumping over and thought, “Oh, they’re so happy for their boys! That’s awesome!” Then, it was a small, casual trickle of some young 20 and 30 something peeps from section Y, and then a large gathering was suddenly congregating on the field kind of just hanging out that grew larger and as someone else said, was just kind of milling around and hugging each other and taking pics. Most people around me were just watching from the railing. I was surprised to see the goalposts come down as I was heading out to the concourse. It was honestly like being at a very large post-game tailgate or something. And then somebody decided to pull the posts. I wasn’t a fan of the goalposts per se, but the after party on the field was fun to watch and my boys loved it! It was my 7 year old’s first game, so it’ll be a memory for him he’ll never forget, so for that reason, I’m kinda glad he and my other son can say they were at a great game where the goalposts came down.It was slow moving. I was lighting my cigar and the guy came over the PA saying stay off the field. Looked over and one pocket went in then the crowd rushes. I don’t personally care. After so long in a drought fine to celebrate. But once the kids got on the field goal posts didn’t have a chance. Entertainment to smoke my cigar. Go Vols!
Not okay with it. Just dumb and they are doing it for instagram and TikTok.
Well, tell your kids to do better. Hike the hell out of it to pay this time, and ban them for stupidity when bama comes back. Clearly we need smarter fans in the stands.
My oldest texted me that fans were storming the field. Told her to rush the field too, have fun and send mom and dad a picture. Players, recruits and coaches loved it. Sorry we won and it ruined your get off my lawn Sunday!Well, tell your kids to do better. Hike the hell out of it to pay this time, and ban them for stupidity when bama comes back. Clearly we need smarter fans in the stands.
