Tiger got beat by a better player!!!!!! (for one week......Y.E. was better). Tiger did NOT choke. You have to be GOOD enough to choke away an event before you comment on that!!!!
So, missing every crucial putt and closing with a 75 doesn't qualify as a choke?

Why does one have to be a +5 to understand choking? Hell, lots of -5s choke in the club championship, at least enough to understand what it is.

Bottom line is that Tiger couldn't find many courses on earth more tailor made for his game and he didn't win. He was beaten by a come from behind no namer who shot 2 under to surpass him. Call it what you want, but he should have won that golf tournament. Had Norman done it, the choke word would be flying all over the place.

You are correct! You can comment on "whatever i want whenever i want".

SO CAN I...and the comment that ANYONE will win the Grand Slam ....is F'ING STUPID!!!!!!!!!

Tiger is not as good as he used to be....and he never did it before. The only thing he has going for him is this......the talent level is smaller. I wish him the best and hope he wins it..........He is the best player ever...but ...NO GRAND SLAM!

why the Caps...

eh, it's just a prediction where the main point was losing may make him that much motivated, so settle down Junior. i didn't know your crystal ball already told you otherwise. or is you exaggeration meter not working?

and for the record, i think you're f'ing stupid too, so we have that going for us.

Choke is the most over used word in sports. It's not like he was spraying the ball all over, he got in a position where he ha to make great shots and was slightly off.

That analyst in golf channel, is a douche. I know a lot of people don't think golf is a sport, but thus douche covers it for a living and the only thing he adds is negativity and criticism. I think they call him the hawk

That, sir, would be dead on the money. The most shocking thing to me is that Yang seemed like the more confident player all day, and that is NOT what Tiger is accustomed to seeing from his final round playing partners in majors.

Ok...let's shake and make up........

Point is I don't think he "choked". He hit good shots and his putts just did not fall. Not based on nerves, but...its just the way it goes sometimes.

I do think Tiger will come back next year even better, but the Grand Slam???? No way. It's too hard to do....never been done.

I think badgering his Sunday round misses the point a bit. He went out Saturday hitting irons off of tees and playing to the middle of greens thinking two days of par golf would win him the tournament. He let the field close the gap, where any one of the followers could have a hot day, and Tiger could have an off day, and he could lose it. It was a strategic error on a day where conditions allowed for some birdies and he could have tried to put the tournament away. He didn't, stumbled on Sunday, and Yang ran him down.

In other news, I pushed the Mrs. yesterday, shooting a +3 39 on the back to match hers (there was a highschool golf match on the front.) I don't shoot 39, I don't play even with the wife, and I don't hit 5 greens in a row very often, so yeah...I'm bragging.

Golf is a lot more fun when you hit it pretty much where you intend.

congrats.....
hope any side bets you had going with her, you collected on...

Thanks. I actually beat her on the front yesterday, but it wasn't really a match. She was tinkering around with her setup on the course, picking up on a couple of holes and playing two balls on others, while I was actually playing golf. She said I could count it as a win if I wanted in what I can only take as a patronizing tone. I sank a 60 footer on 9 to finish at +7 42.

Does +3 on the back Monday and +7 on the front Tuesday = 81? I'm counting it as an 81, handicap rules be damned.

Nice work Cotton...those days make the game fun.

sounds good to me, just consider it a prolonged weather delay.

Actually....a very good point!

played Three Ridges in Knoxville yesterday. Hit my approach on #1 to within 3 inches . . . in hindsight should have just turned around and gone back to the clubhouse after that.

When it happens that early, it's the one that doesn't bring you back.

It was actually a pretty good indication of how the day was going to go. I think that was the longest putt I made all day long.
