Knock him off? He hasn't done anything of note since June 2008. And no the Bridgestone win wouldn't be of very much note.

Do what? Bro is 9th in Ryder Cup points after having essentially skipped this season. He's done something since 08. The Bridgestone is an enormous tourney with a great field.

Phil had a chance to take over the #1 spot, and laid an egg.

Hunter Mahan played solid all week and deserved to win. 64's on Sunday's wins tournies.

Things from 2008 shouldn't be taken into account when determining who the World's #1 is right now. Tiger has played terrible this year save for the Masters and does not deserve to be #1. It's painfully obvious that he is not, and won't be for awhile.

So what should be taken into account? One year? One month? One week?

Tiger has been the best golfer on the planet for a very long time. He isn't playing like it now, but neither is anybody else, so he has thusfar held his ranking. I don't have a problem with that.

You state he does not deserve to be #1. Who does?

Paul Goydos shot a 59.

I thought about it (briefly), then I decided lounging in the pool while throwing back some cold ones was gonna be my gameplan.

Good call. 91 was incorrect. 98 would have been more accurate. It was hot as hell, and I hit it crappily. Luckily, a birthday party shortened the round.

So, Ladies Club Championship sign-up was scheduled to end today. Mrs Cotton, who has won the event 6 times out of 6 times she has entered, was first on the list. Only 3 other ladies signed up, so they have extended registration. It is the second year in a row that has happened, and my lovely wife is understandably pissed.

There is one golfer who can legitimately compete with her, and she is famously afraid of competition. There are maybe 3 or 4 others who have a chance if Mrs. Cotton shows up drunk or agrees to hit every shot with a 7 iron. Nobody else has a chance, so they don't enter, so they drag it out for another month and then crown her.

Women's sports suck.

Just picked up a 52 and 56 Cleveland CG14. As soon as the temp. drops below the surface of Mercury I'll go give them a try.

You can never go wrong with Cleveland wedges.

I bet I can.

Actually, I'm replacing an ancient Cleveland sand wedge and a mildly ancient Cleveland 53*

It was that damn "we have to stop making these this year" commercial that caused my wedge fever.

Bought some Bridgestone 330rx's as well.

anybody play(ed) the laser milled cleveland's?

I bought one...haven't played it yet. Superstition. One old guy told me they're ball eaters (took a chunk out of my ball like a pit bull on a bone) and he didn't like them.

I got the oil quench 52. Looks bad. Nice finish.

Played 9 with my wife and another couple yesterday evening. Par 3 7th, 154 yards, I hit an 8i right at the pin, but I couldn't see it once it got below the horizon. Walked up to the green and found this:

Nice to be in the club
