The Golf Thread

Both are solid choices, not the best courses in the area but certainly not anywhere near the worst either. I enjoyed Litchfield a little more than Pawley's but they are fairly equal in quality.

i was pleased.

in terms of scenery, Pawley's is certainly much better. the 13/17 Par three combo played off the dike that runs through the marsh is one of the cooler combos i've played. i parred them both. however, their greens were punched a few weeks ago.

Litchfield was definitely in better shape, and the greens were perfect. the rough was thicker too. i hate the grass they use.

both were close to the condo, which was also nice.

Mildly jealous.

this is 13 at Pawley's, from the dike. i don't remember the distance but it seems like EVERY par 3 played between 160 and 165.

this was on the front nine at Pawley's

this was from the fairway at 16. it's actually sort of a shared green between 13 and 16 because the area is really narrow.

flattest golf courses on earth over there.

i play with an app on my phone. helps me tremendously. i don't hit near as many shots short. and i've yet to find a course not on it.

How is the accuracy?

I check my GPS with the laser. It's money, but the laser still has the slope.

i try to remember to check accuracy against sprinkler heads or fairway markers on the first couple of holes. i've never found it to be more than a yard or two off. i'm not good enough for that to matter.

Nobody really is, but it's a mental thing. Carries over hazards are the best part of the uPro. Has them all on there all the time. No measuring or finding. My lazy ass likes that.

Congrats to Furyk today.

But now it's time for the Ryder Cup. My favorite week outside of Augusta. Nothing like hating that group across the pond.

The golf channel had been showing brookline highlights the past week and it's on now. that will get you in the rc mood.

My favorite week, including Augusta. Was at Brookline and it was the most fun I've ever had, at least Sunday was, at any sporting event, including our national title. I love Augusta, but in all honesty, the US Amateur is a more entertaining event for a golf nut.
