Anyone play Titleist AP2 712? Also looking at the Mizuno MP-59. I think its finally time to retire the clubs from high school.
I need to find a demo day, not many of them here in Clarksville. I have looked in the Nashville area, but haven't had any luck.
Both sets youre looking at came out in 2012, so hitting these at a demo day will be a slim chance. The Mizuno MP 59 is your best shot as they are still listed as current model. The 712s have been replaced by the 714s.
Most of big demo days where most of the OEM reps are there have already been done this year. They are done in the early spring when the new stuff comes out. There will still be some smaller demo days this season but the reps are usually limited at these.
Mizuno had one today at The Hermitage in Old Hickory:

Called Edwin Watts in Nashville & they carry both brands. You can hit them in their store. They use to let you pay a deposit & take clubs to a course to play. Now they have the 90-day buy back. You buy them & dont like them; you can take them back within 90 days with receipt for a full refund.

Unless you just gotta have new clubs, buy used. Youve got a local Craigslist & one in Nashville. Avoid Ebay, too many fakes. If you need me to help you find something used, let me know
Shot an 83 yesterday, best round of the year. Drove the green on a 280 par 4, 4 putted for a bogey.

I better step up then, and play a little more

Sparty, which one, would you reco
You won't have the brown spots on the Ping's. Only happens on carbon steel forged clubs. It's from the coating wearing off & the steel starting to rust. Takes a lot of ball beatin for those spots to appear
You can still see where you hit the ball. In the middle. Towards the toe. All over.
If I have a miss hit it's going to be on the toe. If I shank it badly it will go 20 yards right, but that rarely happens. If I hit it somewhat well and miss my target it's generally going left 10ish yards. If that makes sense. I haven't ever taken lessons, pretty much have just learned on the fly since early high school.
