I'm done with hybrids! For every good (decent) one I hit there's at least 5 30yd hooks. I do everything possible to keep it from going left but sometimes it seems to make it worse. I mean they're not low duck hooks, they're solid & high but just go left. I've been debating it but now I guess my mind is made up on getting a 5 wood.

Many of the hybrids are toed in 2 degrees. Some are not. Have u looked at your specs?

Wouldn't that depend on me & how I set up to it? Anyway I have a couple, one adjustable & one isn't. No matter how I set up I always have to be weary of the left. It's a moot point now I found me a 5 wood.

CC, the point i was trying to make....I try to set up the same with all the clubs. Like most average golfers (double digit handicap), I try to hit it straight but have to fight the slice.

However, with a group of old man hybrid Calloway IIIs, that are toed in two degrees, I actually hook those a bit.

I have the opposite problem I'm a hooker/drawer & I set up with the club just slightly open. To hit a hybrid relatively straight I have to open it even more & it just doesn't feel right not to mention it still hooks. Maybe there's a hybrid out there for me I just haven't found it.

Do you hit 3 irons reasonably well or do you hit heat seekers?

Surgery this morning on my knee so my game is shelved for awhile. Kindof looking forward to resting a little rejuvenating. Plus, our course is going thru this change to zoysia so it's going to be screwed up for awhile. Will be playing thru your rounds a little here so share some shots and courses and pics.

Played a fun course in Omaha today- Indian Creek.

Rented clubs so that kind of sucked, but it was fun. Had a bunch of pars and a birdie.

Putted really well considering it was a loaner.

Don't really know. He removed a bunch of junk but didn't do a repair or anything because I have no acl and no meniscus left. I'm not young anymore so we will see, though when I can 3/4 punch, I will be out there.

Which knee is it? I'd think you'd be able to get back faster from a right knee than a left knee.

It's the right one and I've been playing with it hurt anyway. And yes, it would be harder if it was my left with the planting and turning. My handicap will go up and I will have to adjust my swing a little due to not being able to fire off as hard but there is something a little oddly fun to try to make adjustments and make it work. My swing is homemade anyway. It's not ugly, but just more of feel. I can play a fade or draw and have a lot of shots, but if I get too mechanical or try to have the same swing, I play worse.
Probably makes no sense to guys who played competitive golf younger and have well taught swings.

I used to fight a hook, a friend of mine who gives lessons told me I was too armsy, quiet lower body. A good drill is to start your backswing and fire the hips thru early before you reach the top of your backswing, it helped me out a lot, I can actually fade the ball again.

Also aim a little left, clubface a little right, and do what I mentioned above.

Just passing along a tip that helped me out.

Just go research Stack and Tilt. You might lose a little distance, but you can play left footed golf all day long.

The hook is mainly with hybrids. Most times I hit a fairly straight shot or a draw. If I miss with anything else I usually push it a little right or maybe come over it a hair.

I understand.

Did I just read pages of words that could be summarized by saying I need a heel insert for my right knee issue? Too long and lost my attention so fill me in. I don't fire off my heel anyway. I fire off my toe and my no acl knee loosy goosies it's way towards my target as I fire off my right hip.
