I've played both and Augusta is all it's cracked up to be. Most immaculate place in all of golf and incredible place to play. Caddies made it infinitely more playable, but the greens definitely take some of the fun out of playing it. Much of the advice from the caddy, you have to ask if he's serious.I was about to say when I read your post that I thought you went this summer. The thing is, there is a chance to get to play kohler...I don't have much of a shot at augusta.

I've heard that about augusta, that as good as it is..the greens are silly. I haven't been yet, i'm planning on seeing the masters this year....how hilly is it really to play?I've played both and Augusta is all it's cracked up to be. great place and well done, but didn't like the course much. Has a very tricked up, gimmicky sort of feel. that was several years ago and I'm sure the changes since then have helped. One of the most difficult courses I've ever been on.
those long skinny fairways with no 1st cut and 5 inch rough were hideous. Definitely hurt my experience there. Hitting 2 iron on a 440 yd beast is not my idea of a good time. Might not have helped that I wasn't playing very well while there. Another course to fall in love with down there (it's considerably further south) is the Medalist at Hobe Sound.I have a friend that lives in a condo on Sawgrass and he is a junior member (his dad is a full member). I have played it multiple times and the recent changes to the course make it better. The fairways aren't as sandy as they once were, so you lie in the fairways improve. It is one of my favorites and I am palying it again this year at my friends wedding. Are you in East TN?
In college I really liked Lambert Acres out in Maryville. One, it is cheap and two, they don't take tee times so could just go whenever I had some free time without planning for it. Also, it is a 27 hole course, so there is more variety.
try golf865.com or whatever it's called now as well.
