The Golf Thread

course reopened all 18 Saturday. Looking forward to playing the back and some revamped holes. The zoysia is just great right now though. Never had good lies on bermuda here and for many months, being in the rough was preferred. Every lie seems to be nice, and now rough is deep bermuda and thick.
Cart path only till April, which sucks for a gimp like me.
Still don't know why they didn't do zoysia in the first place

rescued a dog tonight
was playing around 5:00 and stopped at a bathroom on #5 and the house next to it had a mastiff stuck on the fence.
She had tried to jump the fence and had her right leg stuck between the rungs
It freaked me out when I saw it, the owner came out after banging on his door and we lifted her off
Thankfully she was just stuck between the rungs and one of them hadn't pierced her leg...
She still had a tear to the inside of her, leg, but he got to an emergency vet

the other weird thing was his kids had left the gate open, about 8ft away, the dog could have run right out the gate, but tried to jump over the fence

Wow . . . Nevermind that he's an effin liar, I think I'd be ashamed to even turn that in at a charity tournament.

I'd add that it was largely a work event as my company is the main sponsor, of which he is an employee. Not sure about the other 3 guys, but those that know thus guy say he's full of ****.

My church tournament is tomorrow. I may just turn in -24 and see what they say. They have to forgive me, right?

I'd have gone to at least -25 for good measure. If they're going to forgive you, might as well get as much as you can.

Finished 2nd with a legit -12. Apparently my hypocrisy only goes so far.

The problem with captains choice is somebody always bombs one out there & you have a 70 yard approach. Nobody hits it to within 15 feet & everybody misses the putt.

Was that the tips?

Not even close. They had the State Am there a few weeks ago and had the course can stretched out to about 6,900. The course isn't overly long, but it's an old Donald Ross, Par 70 design with undulating, bent greens the size of pool tables.
