That's still smoking it pretty good. I can probably get a 9 iron to go that far, but it would likely involve Advil and pulled muscles.
The first par 3 yesterday was 165 yds. I hit an 8 iron pin high about 30 feet left. A couple of us replayed that 9 after the round. I hit 8 iron again to about 4 ft, missed the putt. Another par 3 was 202 yds, downhill. Hit a 6 iron. First one I hit a touch heavy. Dropped another one just for the heck of it & hit it to about 6 ft with no forward roll at all. I'm not as long as bama but I think I hit it pretty good.
Here's the 202 yd par 3
It makes me cry seeing pics like that. Grass just grows better and looks more lush up there. I guess that's my trade off for being able to play year round down here.finding that zoysia doesn't get as much roll as Bermuda. With some of the grass grown to @ 4 feet in between some holes that were somewhat bailout areas prior and the new grass, 6700 is playing really long right now.
all 18 will be ready to play next week.
It's finally looking like the website. For awhile, people were coming out and getting pissed because the site was a misrepresentation of what they were getting when visiting. The tall stuff in the picture should only be an issue on a few holes, but that means one bad tee shot and you are hitting 3 off the tee.

I play Bridgestone E6. I had my hole in one/alby with it and also shot my low career round of 70 (which I will never get within 5 strokes again) with it. I tried others but have a confidence with it for some reason. Plus, I dig the arrow on it to use for putts and my tee shot. It makes me feel like he's telling me where he's going.
I don't know anything about anything you guys are talking about when it comes to sticks, shafts, compression, loading, 3 piece, 2 piece, etc.
I would get ocd about that kind of stuff.
for club choice, I pick up a few and swing them. Then I get one I like and ask the guy to get me 2 similar choices. Usually make my club decision on one trip and quickly if I'm getting clubs, wedge, hybrid or whatever. The Adams hybrid I got for $69 is my best stick right now. Bridgestones' are $26. We have several high handicappers playing pro V's. They shoot 90-95 every round and continue to buy the most expensive ball.
