I lose too many balls to be paying the price for Pro V1/1X.

Though I may get the 'practice' ones once I don't lose as many.

I play Srixon Softfeel and have gotten used to them, nothing super but easy to hit and have pretty good touch.

I bought a case each of refurbished Bridgestone E6's and 330RXS's. Those 330's were fun to hit but way too spinny for a guy who doesn't flush it every swing.

I definitely could tell they were a superior ball, but my game's not at a point where I can take advantage of it, and it's positives are actually detrimental.

Anyone else ever use golfnow? There's only one course around me I've found for sure that uses it but you can get some great prices. Booked a tee time this Sunday for me and my buddy for 14 dollars apiece 18 holes with cart. Normally 31 dollars at this course.

Use it often. Love it. 18 with a cart for $20 can't go wrong

I've used it in several places. Works like a charm.

Love it. I use it all the time. I've gotten 18 and a cart for as low as $12

They do have a soft feel, and spin around the greens, but if I play something harder, I just allow for more roll. It is pretty easy to figure out after a shot or two.

Not if you played a place like I play. There are some greens where it feels like you're hitting onto a pool table. The ole "one hop and stop" is my go to shot.

It is nice hitting an 80 yard wedge and leaving a "groundskeeper will hate me" ball mark

I learned how to play a lot of shots a long time ago before a lob wedge existed. I have played on all kinds of greens with many different golf balls. I played wound balata balls for probably 30 years. I am not going to tell you that a hard rock plays just as well around the greens on every shot, but I think that I can do okay with any ball, and probably shoot the same score.

I grew up with 2 wedges in the bag; hitting flops with a 56* wedge too.... but I want access to every kind of shot. Plus, small, bent greens don't mix well with rocks.

My point was that the way I play, and where I usually play, the ball doesn't matter that much (to me). I have always managed to hit 12-14 greens, and aim away from tucked pin positions. So, I may try to get up an down 4 to 6 times a round, and rarely short side myself. There is usually some green to work with where I'm chipping from. I don't think a ball change would affect my score to any great extent.

Had an interesting day out. Shot a 93, 51 on the front 42 back. Still struggling off the tee, but cutting a finger this morning pretty bad didn't help my swing. Around the green and putting was solid though for me. Especially on the back.

Shot a 104. Back 9 was better than the front again. A slice has came back on my drives the last 2 rounds. Hit it straight as can be on the range prior though.

Same with my drive, worked on a drill at the range Thursday and was hitting it well. Then today was back to slicing it.

So last fall watching Cubs in the playoffs, I noticed how Ben Zobrist over exaggerated keeping his shoulder into his chin. I incorporated that into my woods and driver and noticed a huge difference in hitting the ball dead straight. I've always had a fade that turns into a slice when I don't get through enough. Now I've added yardage, I just have to trust myself aiming a little right.

I have been fighting a slice too. That has always been my miss. I was fitted with a new driver and shortened the shaft and I was doing well, but it's reappeared. My coach was telling me my swing is looking better, just lining up to the left and coming across the ball causing it to spin off. So I too think I need to trust myself and aim straighter off the tee. I also need to stop trying to swing so hard.

I'm playing tomorrow in a tournament at Blackthorn Club in Johnson City. Has anybody played it before?

I played it once. The greens were lightning fast the day I played, and the fairways were firm and fast. It's a nice course, and the greens made it difficult for me. I hit 15 greens in regulation and 3 putted 9 times. Shot 84 with 45 putts, 9 three putts, 9 two putts.
