I have really been cheated. I have holed out with full shots from a 9 iron , a 5 iron, and a 5 wood, and all were on uphill holes where I didn't even see the ball go in the hole. There was no one around the green, so I assume they went in on their own. None were on a par 3 though, except the provisional where I hit the 5 iron, and I found the first ball, and didn't even get to count the provisional as a par 3. I made 4 after finding the first tee shot. You know you're bitter when you see a one armed guy make a hole in one and you're first thought is "he can't spin the ball, so he has a better chance at rolling one in than I do".
3 weeks ago, I was playing with a few friends. Missed the green on a short par 3, got pissed and dropped another ball. Knock it in. Story of my lifeI have really been cheated. Funny! I will say that the 3 full shots that I remember holing out were all perfectly struck shots. I remember playing with a guy that skulled one in the hole from about 160 out.3 weeks ago, I was playing with a few friends. Missed the green on a short par 3, got pissed and dropped another ball. That's what drives you crazy. I've holed out on full shots 8 or 9 times and I can't remember a single one that I didn't hit pure.Funny! Except for the finish, those look remarkably similar to my old McGregor Tourney Customs (also the Muirfields that came later, but I never had those) from about 1980. I also had a set of Mizuno blades , before anybody around here had ever heard of Mizuno. I think maybe MS-3 or something? I need to look them up.
Always a great day to tee it upHardly a cloud in the sky today, it made it to 56 degrees here so it turned out to be a good day to tee it up. View attachment 258424
Always a great day to tee it up
I went out today, hit some balls on the range, and chipped and putted a little. It was pretty chilly due to the wind, even though it was sunny and about 52-54 when I was there.I absolutely love to play and I used to think that as well, played in all kinds of lousy weather, but now at almost 55 years of age I have a rule that it has to be at least 48 degrees at tee time before I'll even consider it and I prefer 53 or above. The days of playing in near freezing temps have gone by the wayside for me. Just simply not quite the badass I used to be.
Here's one that will make you sick. I just read in Golfweek that a 10 handicapper in Daytona got his first ever ace on the 3rd hole, and his 2nd ever on the 14th same round. His name was Choyka ? maybe and he is 67. There is still hope.WATCH: One-armed amateur golfer knocks in a hole-in-one at The American Express
This is some cool stuff!
And I can't make one? WTH?
