Good Lord… of course. But it clearly wasn’t a situation where a guy needed to be ripped out of his car, cuffed and perp walked in the middle of the scene. Yell at him and then go fry the bigger fish.
The cop knew within seconds what he was dealing with and decided to carry on his adrenaline rush and flex on the guy in the BMW.
He was driving a PGA courtesy car.
Like a previous poster said, typically law enforcement and event workers allow courtesy cars to navigate through traffic to get to the course.
What you guys don’t understand is when there is a fatal traffic accident it’s not your normal crash scene/investigation. Unless you are emergency personnel the roadway is completely shut down. Photos have to be taken and measurements of the crash scene have to be made. Just go look at the videos of the incident, look how many cops cars are there and look how backed up traffic was. I don’t think Scheffler meant any harm, it was just an unfortunate situation all the way around. If he didn't consider the possibility that the expensive car going around traffic near the entrance of the PGA Championship might be driven by a professional golfer, I'm not sure how the officer in question achieved the rank of detective.

Again, just saying it gives me pause. I know VN is like the rest of America and that it’s simply this or that with no in between. Darlington is a respected journalist that would tell the whole story. But yall do you. Clearly this is all the cops fault because… well because you automatically assume so.Not trying to be a jerk here, but how else do you “attach” to a slow moving car? Bite down on the bumper?
Except it’s been reported they were letting pga players go around the traffic/accident area and were instructed to do so?What you guys don’t understand is when there is a fatal traffic accident it’s not your normal crash scene/investigation. I think everyone understands that. It’s been stated that other players were allowed to make there way to the course. Clearly, someone there knew there were players going and allowing them, but not the cop that Scheffler interacted with, and said cop went full nuclear on the situation. What you guys don’t understand is when there is a fatal traffic accident it’s not your normal crash scene/investigation. yeah… I’m well known for being a flaming anti-cop protester lol.Again, just saying it gives me pause. I know VN is like the rest of America and that it’s simply this or that with no in between. I didn’t say anything resembling your opening remark… but it’s telling that’s where you went from my remarks. Please all of yall, continue overreacting to “it gives me pause”yeah… I’m well known for being a flaming anti-cop protester lol.
We all know we’re just guessing here. But obviously something went haywaire for a family man with no record and worth millions to end up cuffed and stuffed for a traffic incident.
I’m sure it was completely chaotic being a death scene at the entrance to a sporting event. Sounds like both Scheffler and the cops were confused. Schaffer thought he was dealing with volunteers or security guys who would let him through like he had been told and cops thought they were dealing with some random guy acting like he was above the law.Do we know if the officers needed to road blocked during the time Scheffler was coming trough because they needed to mark the scene?
Not even slightly. Like you always do, you’re drafting your own narrative.
Even with a scenario where charges are dropped, it’s just as likely it’s not worth the hassle as compared to it being “an overreaction”.
