I didn't say that they would not disqualify another player...but they did let her play through the 3rd round. I'm suggesting that perhaps this would not have happened with another player.
sounds legit to me. Thanks for clearing it up.I heard the explanation for that.
The LPGA had no idea that there was a problem since they were looking at a signed scorecard. It didn't come to light until Saturday that she had signed the card only after leaving the scoring area and coming back. Since she was already on the course, they waited until she completed her round to hear her side of the story before making a ruling.
I guess there's a slight chance something like that happened, but I doubt it.that's kindof the attitude that I have been hinting at all along.
I already said that my speculation on Wie was incorrect. Even in the sluman situation the waited 3 holes before pulling him out. There was clearly no choice but to DQ Sluman on the spot for that violation. SLuman knew what he had done and called it on himself. It was cut and dried.
In Wie's case, the LPGA had a signed scorecard and a story that Wie had left the scoring area illegally before coming back and signing the card. They didn't even know there was a problem until Wie was on the course Saturday and they needed to hear Wie's side of the story. They weren't going to stop the entire golf course and hold People's Court for 15 minutes trying to sort things out.
