I'd be surprised if Texas gets a 1. For God's sake, they lost to a team that couldn't beat Centenary.

They have some big wins though. Kansas, UCLA, Tennessee, but saying all this I wouldn't be surprised to see them done after the Sweet 16

My bad BPV, I meant Texas

Yeah, but Texas at least beat somebody, a bunch of somebodies actually. Kansas on the other hand has no RPI top 25 wins. I think the winner gets the 2 in Dallas and the loser gets sent elsewhere most likely, but of the two, I think Texas has the better shot at a 1.

I'm saying they have 3 big wins, but otherwise aren't really that impressive on paper
I can't agree with that. They beat St. Mary's soundly, won at Kansas State, and handed an Oklahoma team that will probaly get in like they were Prairie View.

I'll be putting the regional breakdowns folks requested right here, starting tomorrow night with Tennessee's region. Also, I'm trying to get ahold of some coaches to get their Final Four picks. I'll post those here, as well.

I look forward to reading your tourney insights, hat. :good!:

But as BPV pointed out the Tech loss 2 weeks ago was awful. The Missouri loss from way back when doesn't reflect to well right now either

In all fairness, the Missouri roster that beat Texas was a bubble team. The Missouri team that finished the season was dreck.

Right now I have in order
UNC, UCLA, Memphis, Kansas
Tennessee, Wiscy, Texas, Duke
L-Ville, Stanford, Xavier, Georgetown(probably a 2 if they win tonight) switch them with Wisconsin

I thought, until the Tech disaster that they were the number 3 top seed. I'm not sure what they do with them now.

The nights that James brings it, they are extremely good. As good of a starting 5 as anyone in the land.

how on earth would you put g'town behind any of those other 3s. In fact, they're gonna end up ahead of Duke if they beat Pitt tonight.

I edited and said they'd be a 2 if they win the Big East. Up until this week they'd accomplished nothing against top RPI teams. But they've been nothing short of impressive in the Big East Tournament

1. UNC, Memphis, Tennessee, UCLA
2. Texas, Kansas, Duke, Georgetown
3. Louisville, Stanford, Wisconsin, Xavier

Kansas does NOT get a 1. They will have maximum 1 top 25 RPI win, not the stuff a 1 seed is made of. They have none now, and play Texas tomorrow. Texas can sneak in, but Tennessee's RPI will be 1 or 2 depending on Carolina tomorrow, and #1 SOS. They're going to be hard to bump.

KU beat TX in the reg season already

Carolina is in the same boat we're in. The difference, they've made clutch plays each game to hold off. Something we had been doing until today. They're talented, but there defense is worse than ours. The one difference, they do have the most talent in the nation
