Drinking it is not the issue. Driving while drunk is. It is common knowledge that Billy G has gotten out of a few DUI's.
I could care less about the guy but he didn't get any more breaks than the average John Doe would have gotten. One charge dismissed in 2003 and in 99 Reckless driving conviction.Besides, I think if your BA is too high you can't get a DUI reduced down anyways. Like I said, he operated under the same law we all abide by, no special treatment. But I'm glad some people are perfect, or least think they are.

Apparently, helping mold these 18 year olds into men isn't important anymore. I'd like a coach who could be a rolemodel as well.
Yeah, a guy who trashes a 25 year marriage by chasing women 30 years his junior is a great role model.

I'm a little worried about the tourney considering our play the last couple of weeks. Strong guard play heading into the tournament is a strong indicator of quality performance. We really need to step it up if we want to make a good run.

All I'm saying is that the character of the coach should count for something. Apparently you guys don't agree. I would hope that our university would take these things into account when hiring coaches. Where have morality and values gone these days?

Also, Hat I didn't know you had so many disciples. You really need to think about starting that webite I mentioned previously( Hatnation ). You seem to be God to many on here.

I think you would find the situation different if you weren't being such an ass about CBG.

I don't think they've gone anywhere really. It seems to me that fans are willing to excuse morality based on winning which in the end is the most important to most people. I personally would not mind if we stopped discussing Billy G's drinking, CBP's marital problems etc. I think both have proven they are good coaches. Also, I think that regardless of his mistakes, CBP has molded his players well on and off the court.

People's opinions are going to vary. There is no reason to take it so personally.

very chalkish, except the 'ville over the Vols.

This herd of sheep around here will take this as gospel and you'll be responsible for a pall over the entire Vol Nation. Just give them what they want and pick UT over UL and NC.

I almost made it worse. I've got a nagging gut feeling that a second round matchup with South Alabama would not turn out well.

I don't think Hat's predictions are that far off. Of course the homer in me believes we'll win it all but realistically I can see that happening. UT can get hot and make a nice run though

just out of curiosity...why do you think 'ville would beat TN if they were to play?
I think their inside guys would have a field day against our interior defense, based on what I saw this weekend. If our posts get back to playing as they did the majority of the SEC season, we can certainly beat the Cards.

My gut says we are not made for the tourney, but I'm going with the other part of me that says this loss awakened some folks and we will play to our capability. If we play to our ability, we can beat everyone in our region. If I say it enough, then I might start believing it come Thursday.

I really like us over South Alabama or Butler.

I thought Chism played a helluva game defensively against South Carolina on Friday....if he can give that kind of effort in the tournament, and if the Vols can get some consistent toughness from Crews and Williams, I think the Vols will have a date with UNC in the Regional Final.

I just looked at South Alabama. They look a lot more solid than I realized. They played both Ole Miss and Vanderbilt at their places very tight. Butler better come to play. They got a tough draw overall for such a highly rated team.

Give the man a bit of time......the brackets just came out two hours ago. I would think I would need some significant time to digest the info before I made an analysis myself.

I'm headed to dinner with the lady friend. I'll give an in depth breakdown when I get back.

Both South Alabama and Butler have impressive resumes. If UT plays their game, they beat either. But play a little lethargically ....
