The Hobbit

I'm definitely going to see it. Just debating on whether to go to the regular or IMAX screening. The first 9 minutes of the next JJ Abrams Star Trek movie is playing before the IMAX version so I may have to shell out the extra five bucks to catch that.

ill probally go see it atleast a couple times.. the normal version and hopefully in 48fps if any of the theaters in Chattanooga are showing it

as of 6pm there was a line of people sitting on the floor in Pinnacle Theaters waiting for the midnight showing...many of which were dressed up like halflings

First let me say that I read the book when I was little and i don't remember anything so I have no idea if they left anything out.....but I thought it was Awesome...I just got home from the midnight showing.....the scenery and special effects were great.....and Thorin Oakenshield was a BadAss ...also I couldn't believe all the funny parts in it....had the audience cracking up

Just got home from a 12 noon showing. The "Hobbit" movie is like totally awesome. Honestly, if this is any indication of what's to come from the other two, then the Hobbit" is outstanding for those that love this type of fantasy movie & have waited for it. I rate this as 5 out of 5 stars. Just the special effects will blow you away along with the battles that take place & the music is also great. Can't wait for the next one to come along but will have to.

Looks like the Imax in Turkey Creek is the only way to see it in HFR in Knoxville. Anyone know differently?

my only dislike with it is all of the CG.. i wish they would of went with real actors and makeup like in LoTR

Just got back, and I loved it! The cinematography was outstanding! I can't wait for the next two!

Phenomenal first movie but I fear the next two will be nothing but fight scenes. Obviously the next one is the fight against Smaug and the third one will be the Battle of Five Armies. Very glad that there was very little, if anything really, omitted in the Hobbit from the book so far. Some added stuff, but I was okay with it. IMO, The Hobbit was better than any of the LOTR installments. Best part was that Jackson actually correctly portrayed all the different characters. The dwarves were happy go lucky most of the time, Gollum was innocent yet wicked and Bilbo was timid and shy as a member of the group, but very intelligent and confident in himself.

Sounds right. I read there are only 1000 theatres nation wide with the ability to show it in HFR. I'm honestly a little surprised one of those is in Knoxville.

Its hard to omit anything when they are stretching a 300 page biok into three 3 hour movies. The added stuff comes from Tolken's appendicies so it should be faithful.
